For those with the Borla Exaust

Ok 2 questions:

1. How much did it cost you with installation, and what were the costs of each?

2. While the actual power gains are debatable how is the feel and the sound of the car with the exaust?

I think I may want the setup even if the power gains are not that much if it gives the car a nicer sound at least. I love the stock sound but the idea of an even meaner sound comming out of the coupe is tempting. In other words all in all is it worth it?

Re: For those with the Borla Exaust

I don't have it but I have been doing a lot of reading over at my350z. Supposedly it is costing people between 50 and 75 to get it installed, much more than that and you're getting ripped off. It's sound is supposed to be meaner and lower, more of an exotic-sound rather than a higher-toned riced-out civic sound. People have posted videos of the 350z with it and I think it sounds awesome. It supposedly also revs smoother. If I can scrape up the cash, I would buy it for these two reasons alone, let alone the HP gains.

50-75 doesn't sound bad at all. I thought I read a post on here that said it was an 8 hour job, which sounds like a bit much. I'll have to check out the 350 site and see what it ssounds like.

Re: For those with the Borla Exaust

Hey bro. You'll find lots of info on My350Z.com site on the Borla system on the Z. Try the link :Borla info. , or you may have to log on and join first.
Good stuff over there if you haven't seen (or heard) it. Don't know of any Coupe owners yet with the install.
I've talked to my installer at the dealer and we figure 2 hrs for the exhaust install, but 5 to 8 hrs for the headers! (accessability)
Power gains are dabateable: I'm expecting about 10hp to the wheels (conservative guesstimate) from the exhaust. And heard that realisticly, 5 to 10hp from the headers which are reckoned to be a PITA to install.
From my impressions of the sound clips (on the Z) stock and modded, I like. The change is not objectionable, at any rpm, no drone, more noise at higher rpms but that's to be expected, and from idle to curuising speed, a little more rumble. I like what i heard on those clips.
I personally think it's (the exhaust) is worth it for the looks, quality, and performance. Good luck with your install. I'm looking forward a lot to mine.

I'll add that it's supposed to be relatively easy to install the exhaust yourself. There's no welding involved. You just need to get some ramps/jack stands.
