my g35c vs. some sedan... disappointed!
i got some mods as you can see on the bottom, and i just came back home kinda playing around with a '05 (i think) g35 sedan (plate : mors g? is this person on this forum?) on 405fwy (so cal) and wow he was fast?!? i was so full of myself thinkin i would easily smoke a sedan, but was i wrong! we hit bout 120~ish and he could really keep up with me, although i was eventually 1/2 ~ 1 car ahead at every pull... utterly shocked.

I think you need to do some homework. Plus who know, a guy with a plate saying "More G", probably HAS more "G" under his hood...

When talking about factory-quoted performance figures, you would be safe in playing the 'I can smoke that' game. But as soon as a car hits the streets, all bets are off. Run at your own risk.
It's like the guy in a new Ferrari who gets smoked by a older, highly-modified Mustang, only to have that look on his face that says "Hey! You're not playing by the rules! I should be faster!"
Take those factory performance figures as no more than an indication of the car's potential. And beware of wolves in sheep's clothing.

Actually, the sedan on some years is lighter, while other years it is the same. I think it has a lot to do with the options depending on the years. The coupe originally came more loaded base (bigger wheels, better tires etc...) so the base coupe was weighed. The sedan was only 50 lbs lighter for the base model because it originally came with 16s instead of the 17s. Now that both cars have the same base model, the weight evened out. The 260 hp sedans (for the autos at least) dyno a little less too but only by about 5hp.
The end result is that its a PURE DRIVER'S RACE. Completely equal cars in a straightline.

I probably was a 298 hp six speed sedan and I'm not suprised at the outcome. With your mods, you probably have about 290-295 at the crank. The rev up engines have 10 ft/lb less torque, but they have much better top end.
