http://www.infinitihelp.com/Ownershi.../ITB05-053.htm

Something you can do at home if you

A) Can pinpoint the rattle
B) Can find felt tape...

The source is the TSB sticky at the top...some more TSBs have been added for 05.

Nice, now where do I get that tape?
BTW: pretty sad this has to be done to a 30K+ car

From: Trolling a forum near u.... (T.O.)
this info has actually been posted before. but i have some stuff to add:
-for those with the ticking sound that seems to be coming from the driver's vent: i went ahead and performed the 3m procedure in the article but it did not solve my problems. i still had the ticking noise. this passed weekend i managed to find out that the ticking noise is not coming from the vent but in all actuality it is coming from the lower cover under the steering wheel. my steering wheel is positioned fully forward and down. if yours is set-up this way and u have the dreaded ticking sound... this is most likely where the sound is coming from. i found 2 solutions... 1. move the telescoping wheel towards u (which sucked for me, because the wheel was too close) 2. take the bottom cover off and add some felt tape to a few of the areas. i did number 2 and my ticking noise is histroy.
-u can buy run-of-the-mill felt tape at your local hardware store and cut it to size... or u can buy the one nissan/infiniti uses here: http://performancenissanparts.com/ca...f8811e30bdffc7

You guys can read up here, too. I posted it last month in the coupe and sedan forums...looks like they moved it here from the sedan forum (but left it on the coupe forum...not too many posts there). There are a couple more responses to read up on...
