Yes...it's supposed to go back...but it doesn't go all the way back...but again...yes it's supposed to go back. Have the dealer fix it.

Re: passenger seat???

I'm having that problem with my driver's seat. It goes forward on it's own little random schedule.

Re: passenger seat???

One day my driver seat didn't go forward when I flipped the seatback forward. After the next short trip, everything worked fine again. It never did this before, and it hasn't done it since. But, then again, I really rarely flip the driver seatback forward. The funny thing is that the forward/reverse button worked just fine so I know it wasn't a problem with the motors or a circuit breaker that had tripped due to a jammed condition. I suspect that it was a problem with the switch/sensor that determines if the seatback is flipped forward.

Re: passenger seat???

I read some posts on FA about this problem and I think it has something to do with the hand brake. AFAIK, the hand brake has to be on in order for the seats to move back and forth...
Am I mistaken???

Re: passenger seat???

Yes, Speedoholic, you are correct. Thank you. Sure enough, my driver seat doesn't go forward if I don't have the hand brake (only 6MT) fully pulled. I usually use my hand brake when I park, but I must not have got it fully pulled the time I had the problem. TrentaCinque, that's probably your problem too since I see you also have a 6MT.

Re: passenger seat???

Handbrake huh. How simple is that. Now that I think about it I haven't been using my handbrake 100% of the time. Thanks a lot.

Re: passenger seat???

Hmmm...I am a 5AT and I have NEVER used the handbrake, si I don't think that was my issue......could have been the door issue since I think I was on the driver side trying to get the passenger seat to slide back with it's door closed. I sometimes would leave that seatback up to additionally shade the seat from the sun......I'll test that theory but sounds plausible....unfortunately my wife took the car to Memphis so I can't try it till friday night....
