the weight difference is what is going to help it.

weight difference? wth are you talking about? Intake hardly does jack for your car. Especially when close to stock form. The more power you have the more effective the intake will be. The sedan is close in performance to the coupe but an intake won't make a difference in that race. It will come down to driver. The Coupe should definitely win on top end.

"sedan useing 93/91octane plus his CAI should have the coupe"

NOT! A coupe running 93/91 octane will beat a sedan running 93/91 octane any day! No way a CAI gives him 4/10 of a second!

Re: stock coupe vs sedan with ingen cai

the CAI is rated for 14hp gain for sedan and about 8 for the coup. there are time slips on the net of low 14sec(14.1-14.3) of stock 6mt sedans. the best iv sceen for a stock 6mt coup was not much better then that (14.0X). so i think there is a good chance the 6mt sedan with the cai could win.

Re: stock coupe vs sedan with ingen cai

I agree with the opinion of others that 14hp for a CAI on this car is a load of nonsense. They're struggling to get 14hp out of headers and exhaust. There's no way moving the stock intake 5 inches lower (yet making air travel through all those extra inches and turns of engine-heated duct, which in some cases is metal) is adding significant power to a car that's actually moving forward (instead of squatting on a dyno and burning up its engine compartment without ramming air in).

CAIs on these cars are noisemakers. The Coupe wins given equal drivers and break-in.

Re: stock coupe vs sedan with ingen cai

What the sedan has is a deffinate weight advantage against our coupes... =(

And with Ingen's CAI it might take the coupe... Damn guys let's face it.. Our coupes are FAT =(

Is there anyway to make our coupes lighter?

My friend got his 3900lb VR-4 down to 3100lbs with something called a "Massive Weight Reduction" of the frame... I wonder if we could do something like that? It would be nice to have a 2800 to 3000lb G35... Ohhhh baby imagine the 1/4 times now =)

Re: stock coupe vs sedan with ingen cai

lets just settle this once and for all, I have sedan with injen cia no exhaust. I want to race a stock coupe with the same injen cia. And I promise not to use my NOS. Any takers? Oh I have a 5A, so it's only fair to race a auto coupe.

Re: stock coupe vs sedan with ingen cai

The magazines have already established that the G coupe in any form is faster than the sedan stock. Just CAI isn't going to fix that IMHO.

blah, blah, blah...don't be so foolish to believe everything you read in the magazine. I'm sure everything in the national inquire is true...right? LOL! Just like most of the claim on these exhaust, air intake, pulleys, ect about how much horse they really put out.
