Window roll-down question.

Hey,
I noticed that the passenger side window rolls down like 1mm when the door is open compared to the drivers side window which rolls down a lot more...the passenger side seems like its not even rolling down. is that something i need to take to the dealer to get it re-programmed or something?

thanks!

Mine is the opposite.....I had my drivers window motor replaced last year, and it hardly moves at all. As a matter of fact, if I open the drivers door in a hurry, or normally for that matter, it just makes contact with the upper molding on the car. I need to have the dealer take a look at it, and make any adjustments needed.

I usually have my drivers auto up feature disengaged by lightly tapping the window switch and have it drop 1/16".

same here, passenger side almost 1/2 of a inch, driver 1/8.

dealer replaced the passenger side window motor because window refused to go up last week.

I made a post about the window drop down feature a few weeks ago, did not get alot of reply but you could try to search for it.

EDIT: also, winter is here and I will also tap window button to lower a bit window do overide the drop down feature with Canada cold winter that freeze window glass.

The purpose of the "drop down" is to clear the upper plastic roof part and to help close the door without compressing air in the cabin when you close the door.

That's almost what my sales rep told me. He said it does that b/c the cabin is air tight.

Haha, how do you breath in the car then?? I think its more for the window to tuck up into the rubber seal and partially under the sheet metal. The reason it goes down is so when you close (or open) it the top of the glass does not hit the sheet metal and possibly crack.

Both windows should come down slightly to allow opening the doors and to allow the windows to clear the upper edge of the roof.

If your windows are not doing this, then the dealer needs to adjust the window regulators and/or replace the electric motors.

warranty...
