under warranty? just save sales receipts? i know if they try to put engine failure as a result of improper oil/change then it's on me right? how do you protect yourself from that? i only ask because this car costs considerably more than my last ride and the G comes with great coverage.

I called the Infiniti dealer near me to ask about doing my own oil and if it affected the warrenty and they said it wasn't an issue. To protect myself, I save my reciept and also keep my oil analysis reports from Blackstone as proof of changing.

No worries man.....just keep a log of the changes and receipts.
Double check your work to make sure it's done properly and you're covered.

Thats BS... they can not hold oil changes against you. I mean if you throw a bearing, dont make a difference how many oil changes you did.

But saving receipts would help. But i been in a situation where a dealer said to me that it still didnt make any difference since the other place is not infiniti authorised... i laughed in his face and said that it doesnt take a A tech mechanic to change oil and he was fulla crap.

I dont see how changing your oil can void the warrenty...unless they can prove you under/over filled it.

Did you also let him know that he is an *ss. And if he really believed that then he'd be a dumb*ss before you left?

Changing your own oil will not affect your warranty at all. But it is good to save receipts for your own records on when you changed your oil.
