If you know it's not full, and it still won't take on gas, then the issue is the valve at the bottom of the filler tube that has become stuck (closed).
This has happened to a few Infinitis.
Same issue happened to me a while back, but on another ride.

See the dealer for a fix.

The shutter valve and 'o' sensor or something got replaced but still I'm having problems at gas stations everywhere. What do I do? The pump just keeps on clicking everytime i pull the trigger.

I heard some people had some success making this issue go away by putting the pump into the filler nozzle upside down(so the handle is facing up in the air, rather than downward).

I'm pretty sure there was a Technical Service Bulletin issued to cover this problem(at least for the 03/04 coupes).

Your paint will be fine if you washed the gas off with water. Just make sure you don't get any gas on any clear plastic parts such as your headlights or taillights... because that will cause immense damage overnight if not wiped off immediately.

So what if you don't have a ride to the dealership? It's either you get it fixed, or you continue to spill gas on your car. Like he said, bring a laptop and surf the web while they work on it

[QUOTE=andy2434]I had the following TSB applied some 3 months ago. It resolved my gas filling issues immediately. Good luck!

I had this problem once, but i think it was just the pump. i moved to another pump and that fixed the problem. so it might just be the pump itself.

This happened to me once. It was one of my first fill-ups after buying the car - but I didn't get an overflow like this! It just stopped letting me fill, like the tank was full. It was odd. Hasn't happened since that one time, thankfully!

Far as your paint goes, I'd probably wash it a few times and just rewax the entire quarter panel/bumper back there. The gasoline will have removed a lot of your protection back there. Like Picus112 said, people use kerosene to clean tar from their cars all the time, and gasoline is essentially a petroleum solvent when it comes down to it, just like kerosene. A very similar weight too. Check this out...

Actually the problem is, I had the TSB performed, but the car still won't fill. Tried 5 pumps at the same station. Gonna go try others tomorrow.

The problem is that certain pumps pump too FAST! I had the same problem, simply let off on the filler handle and it should work out! Or try another station altogether!

ok cool, so I'm not the only one this has happened to. this just happened to me today. a few days ago I went to fill my tank and noticed it stopped around $20.??. I new that couldn't be right because it usually costs around $30 and up. The station I was at had a tendency of having two much air in the line so I didn't think anything of it. Today I went to fill up at the same station and the same thing happened. I said to myself, WTF! Then I thought to myself, "could it be my 4mos old car that is having the problem?" I went to another gas station that was just on the other side of town. Tried to fill up but it only let me put in $.60. So immediately I called my dealership and made the appointment for Monday morning and reserved a loaner as well. I'm going to let them know first off about the TSB that you all provided. Thanks!

I love this board!
