6MT sucks
I suspesct it's the way you drive in stead of the tranny. are you sure you are pushing the clutch all the way in as you shift from 1-2? you might need to move your seat forward a slight bit. is your floor mat interfering with the clutch throw?

Yeah, I have an 04 6MT and its running awesome. Got about 32k miles on it, and it was fun getting those miles on. I drove other stick cars and they are so easy especially with the clutch and everything. However I found the G is a little jerkier between gears, depending on your RPM's. I was at the track and the trainer told me the reason for that is because it is a high performance car. After a while you start to find it's sweet spots in the RPM and you get use to the car. This is no civic. It has a highly responsive stock clutch and tranny. Get use to it.
I got a 05 6MT and 4.5k miles on it no grinding or anything, ever. It was a bit hard to shift 1-2 but I got a good hang of it by now and there arent any issues and I usually shift into 2nd well above 3krpm (more like 4.5-5k). The only thing is that the 1-2 shift feels nothy(especially when cold), any other shift combo is nice and smooth.

I skipped right to the end as I am in a little hurry so sorry if I am reposting info...
The synchro problem was in the 03-04 transmission. What year is your car?
Our problem was quickly resolved, new tranny with no push back from the dealer. Before repairs there was some grinding but definitely no trouble getting into gear (as least in my case). Is the clutch all the way down? You may have driven a lot of manuals before, but this one is one of the least forgiving I've ever driven.
If you are still having trouble, as so many have already said, take it in to be checked out. Once you get it worked out you will not regret getting the 6MT, trust me.
If you dont like the feel of the gear box, you must not truly enjoy shifting IMO

Today I just revved up to 3k while sitting still a few times, pushed in the clutch and tried to ease the car into 2nd and it makes the whole car shake. I am seriously pissed off as a 36 thousand dollar vehicle should not have filthin' tranny problems.
Any advice? Has anyone tried different tranny fluids like redline? Is it true that the synchros are made of cheap material? Whats the deal?? Someone please tell me that my brand new car is not a friggin POS.

It's unforturnate but the more you read about these issues on the internet the more acute you are to them on your own car. I went through a similar phase when I first got my car and found this board. Yes, my dash vent vibrates, the rear axles rattles and the transmission is notchy... But they are minor and can be repaired. Dealer service is another topic though...

If you have problems shifting 1-2 try adjusting your clutch engagement/disengagment habits. This clutch can be difficult even if you are an experienced stick driver. If you are fully disengaging the clutch then it might be the synchros not doing their job. Slow your shift a bit, pause in neutral for just a fraction of a second to let the synchros the guide you to the next gear. The tranny, like the engine and brakes, needs to be broken-in.
Every transmission design has its unique rythm/timing for smooth shifts. Sometimes you will get it right and be totally surprised at how effortless the shift is. The most likely problem with your transmission is the user. You've only driven it a thousand miles, how many miles were driven on a highway versus stop and go city roads? Drive it for a few more thousand miles in stop and go traffic and I am sure the shifting will improve.
