Last night...I couldn't get from 4th to 5th (2005 6MT). I had to put all my weight into the shifter to get 5th to engage. This morning it seemed fine. As notchy as it should be. But last weekend I couldnt hardly get into 6th without a significant notch getting in the way of the gear seating itself. In both instances, the car was at operating temp.

This is my 7th manual vehicle and Ive never experienced anything like this.
Anybody had similar experiences?

I'm only going to get worried if I absolutely get shut out of a gear. Then at least Ill have 5 others to get me to the dealership!

'03 with 33K and no problems at all...though I will admit this tranny demands constant driver attention if you want smooth upshifts. After almost 3 years it still feels choppy if I get sloppy. Prior car was a BMW, which was very forgiving, though lacked the more direct feel we get (and I prefer) in the G.

i have 05 6mt with 15,000 miles on it... and I do not have problem shifting at any RPM ranges...

Although when my car was brand new, my shifter was little more stiffer than right now...

I have 32k miles on my 03 and I don't have any problems with the tranny other than 1-2 shifts that are sometimes notchy.

Tranny problems

8500 miles and only problem is increased oil consumption. As someone else
said, take it to the dealer before you try anything on your own and make
sure that all is written down in the service report / receipt.

Good luck!

I'm at 7000k and no problems, unfortunately you seem to have gotten a lemon.

P.S. pls stop with the 6mt sucks stuff, for my 36k it's one of the best cars on road today.
