i need some help on which exhaust to choose for my g. can you you people out there tell me what you think?

 

Try to get to one of these meets or car show somewhere, I personaly saw and heard the Borla, Stillen , Ingen and a couple homemade jobbs all together. Borla looked the closest to stock, with a very nice Borla inscription on the pipes, and is up there in HP, I think Ingen is the highest HP gains rite now, but it looks awful. Stillen is OK, the tips looked cheap, and that system certinly aint cheap... For the money, ~700.00, Borla is the way to go! call Labrea motors, 818-704-7950. They are doing the group buy rite now for us.. good luck!

I currently have the Stillen "true" dual stainless steel system. I really don't think the tips look cheap. The are polished stainless steel with the Stillen logo on them. The "two" (as opposed to Borla's "one") mufflers are bright polished stainless steel and look fantastic from the rear. The photos that I have seen of the Borla single muffler do not show a polished muffler. I was hoping that the Stillen had a little more growl. I just took off the cats and now think the car is just a little too loud but is acceptable. I have the Borla system on order from the group buy. When I put the Borla on, I am going to put the cats back on too. I'll let you know what I think of the sound then.

i am going to wait for the stillen which is going to be released some time in august. It will have the largest HP gains 17 wrhp for the 350z and it is load.

how much louder was the stillen with the cats on vs stock?

The Stillen was just slightly louder than stock - not enough to please me. With the cats removed, the sound is just not pretty and it is louder. BUT - the 'ol "Butt-0-Meter" thinks there is a power increase without the cats.

Yah - I'll be selling either the Stillen or the Borla, which ever system I don't like as well as the other. They will be sold at probably 15-20% less than I paid for them. That Stillen system cost $1200!

Stillen now on sale - I've seen $800.00. Don't remember where. However, before you decide to buy anything from Stillen go to my350z.com, forced induction section. Read some of the negative comments about them. Their customer service is scary. BTW, I built my own exhaust system using a MagnaFlow X Muffler with two Blue Streak Glasspacks. Looks, sounds, and goes great.
