Some retard broke my windshield and I dont know how much a new one costs. I want to report it to the insurance but I dont know if they will cover it. Anyway does anyone have an estimate for the windshield and the labor toghether.

According to what has been posted in the past, about $1,000 bucks. Your Insurance will cover it though, less the deductible, they will attribute it to vandalism and will not affect your insurance premium negatively. Good luck.

 

Price depends on which windshield you're repairing. The rear is always more expensive than the front because of the defroster lines. Expect the rear to cost about $1000 and the front about $300

My cost around $900. I had to pay deductible $500. The insurance covered the rest.

 

by the way, if "broke" is a chip or small crack, mine was drilled out and patched with a polymer by local glass smithy

 

Thanks for all the replies.I called up my dealer and they said 1200 with labor included. Anyway they smashed the damn thing into the winshield(front one) and it the size of a basketball with cracks spanning the whole length of the glass so they cannot drill it out.

 

I've always had my windshields done for free. Usually we get these windshield vendors that pay your deductible for you ($100-$200 for comprehensive claims), then replace the window at your work, home, etc.

I've had it done on my car and my truck, and never had any problems.....but....I don't know if I'd trust them to do my G. Still, check your insurance - usually the comp deductible is only $100.
