Re: COUPE INTAKES

problem with buying a intake is that the ecu will eventually "dumb" down the performance gains. unless you replace the ecu this will happen.

but if you just want the sound then get either the injen or the stillen.

Re: COUPE INTAKES

Well, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I believe the intake system of the 350Z is just about perfect. If it were me, and it was. I replaced the filter with a K&N, and replaced the intake with one from a "Z". Much cheaper than one of the aftermarket types. Adds both power and sound. I have not noticed a reduction in power since my install (6 weeks ago).

From the negative posts I've seen about Stillen Customer Service, I'd stay away from them. I've also heard the Injen cuts out at 80MPH or above.

My next intake mod is a Crawford plenum, that will be here tomorrrow. BTW, the Crawford folks think my intake mod was the right thing to do.

The answers to the Crawford Plenum are (hold on tight your wallet!) here: https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...view=&sb=&vc=1

As for the Z intake duct/tube, you can either buy them from a Nissan dealer or look for used ones from My350z.com from people selling the for cheap as they put on a new intake and don't need it anymore.

Re: COUPE INTAKES

Can somebody list all the 350Z intake parts needed for the G35 sedan conversion, including Nissan dealer pricing (want to buy from the dealer for warranty purposes).

Re: COUPE INTAKES

An intake shouldn't void your warrenty. Also for those that have the 350 intake does it change the sound?? I want my coupe to sound even meaner but it seems that the problem with upgrades so far is that the car is built so well that it's seems hard to improve on.

I want it to sound meaner as well.. I just dont know which to go with... im looking to spend near 200 -- and dont know whether to go with the injen, hks, stillen, or 350... which is better and sounds the loudest, deepest, the best?

Re: COUPE INTAKES

Only one part needed, It's the intake tube that fits between the airbox and the plenum. Nissan PN 16576-CD000. I bought mine from Jayson @ Trophy Nissan in Texas. Phone Number (888)209-7942 of (800) 876-7496. I paid $75.00 plus $7.00 shippping. Fits both Coupe and Sedan.

Re: COUPE INTAKES

Just installed the Z intake this weekend - an easy and cheap mod.

Butt-o-meter says that the accelerator seems more responsive than before. I haven't noticed a louder intake sound, but that's probably because the beautiful exhaust note is drowning it out.

Like other people have said - just compare the 2 parts, and you can tell the G intake is alot more restrictive than the Z - it can only help!
