MOTORDYNE MREV PLUS COPPER ISO THERMAL installed! OMG!!!

So I installed my MREV PLUS Copper Iso Thermal today and all I can say is DAMN!!! I felt the difference RIGHT AWAY!!!

First of all the install was a breeze. Took me about 3 hours though since I took my sweet time. I am also very **** and I didn't have an inch/lb. torque wrench so I used a screwdriver style ratchet to limit my torque. I had to call TONY over at Motordyne once to confirm a couple of things while installing the machined lower collector.

So after installing the machined lower collector (MREV PLUS), the ISO Thermal Gasket, the 5/16" Spacer and the Copper Throttle body heater... I took the G out for a test drive.

From the MOMENT I started my engine, I was trying to figure out if my car was louder or if it was just my imagination. But when I pulled out on the street and gave it a little gas... WHOO Damn! I REALLY did not expect it to feel so different. From 3000-6000 RPM I can REALLY feel the difference. It just feels like it takes less effort to get the car moving now. I would never say that I felt the difference if I didn't. So for anyone on the fence about getting this mod for your 05 Coupe, DO IT!!! Best 675 I EVER SPENT!!!

Seriously, I kept saying in my head... "Why didn't Nissan just make the car like this in the first place?!"

I did a couple of runs on this straight away down the street... had my Valentine One turned all the way up just in case. My intake seems to be louder now. I have a JWT Pop-charger and a Z-tube. I can here it hissing (sucking air) a lot louder. Especially while I am givin her gas but not full open. At idle I couldn't tell if there are any leaks just by sound. When I give it gas in first and second with my windows down, I can here the continous hissing until I let off the gas.

I'm gonna drive it for a week then check for leaks. Any suggestions on how to check if the spacer has leaks?

Arrow The old way

The way we used to check for leaks was to get a can of "Starting Fluid" (Either) and spray it around the manifold while the motor is running. If you have a leak, the RPM will increase as the spray passes the hole. Wear safety glasses incase of a flash.

Makes me jelous that the "REV UP" 298HP motors have a fantastic mod like this, but we 287HP's don't.

CONGRATS on the install and the positive outcome though!!

Actually I put the Motordyne plenum with the iso thermal for my 2004 coupe.
It does wonders. Mine only cost like $250 or something.
I would say that its the best horsepower per dollar mod you can do.

My 1/2" md spacer was a fantastic mod. Tony's been doing some good things for our G's. Thanks Tony! I wonder if we're helping him retire early?? j/k

Excellent! Another positive MREV review. Disco, I can only imagine the look on your face when you took your car out for the first run with MREV. LOL . . . I can only offer that if your experience was anything like mine . . . Do not worry about the wrinkles in your face from the "ear to ear" smiles. Those "smiles lines" will be there for quite sometime.

Congrats on your install and most of all . . . Enjoy!!!

i can do urs lol..

if u wana do something cool.. if its a nice day go call up some buddys to go for a cruise.. do a few hard runs.. when u guys stop just pop ur hood with the engine running and if they pop theirs.. tell them to check out their intake manifold while u rest ur hands on the upper plenum.. then tell them that this is what a true cold air intake is

if u think adding the mrev is crazy try taking it off.. ur gona feel like ur g lost its *****
