MREV/Strup Headers combo on 05 6MT...possible???

How will the Strup headers react with the revup engine, especially with MREV installed. This was brought to my attention by another member on the forum. I have the headers on order, but would like to know how they will work with the 05 6MT. The product info on the strup site says they are for 03-04 350Z and G35 coupes: http://www.strup.us/strupweb6_019.htm . Will they work with the 05 6MT revup, with MREV?

Thanks a lot for the input.
Mike

Thumbs up

Anyone have any updates? I'm seriously contemplating the headers but would appreciate some feedback first! Especially MikeStarrG35's because I just bought the MREV Plus for mt 05' 6MT.

The headers just arrived today, along with my K&N filter and my UTR chrome G-tube. I got the UTR chrome G tube and K&N installed, but wont be getting the headers installed for a couple weeks, as I need a shop to do it. I am posting a new thread on the UTR G tube and K&N filter with audio inside, you must hear!!

And here is the thread link! https://g35driver.com/forums/reviews/80453-utr-tube-k-n-filter-mrev-amazing-pics-vids-inside.html

OK UPDATE! I just had the strup headers installed at Mossy Nissan in Oceanside. Did not take them long at all. I only drove it around for a few miles; however, my impressions were not that strong due to my brother taking me for a ride in his turbo'd 350Z with slicks to go and pick up my car. So my initial reaction about my G35 is slow when I first picked it up. My brother on the other hand was riding in the passenger side and he noticed a difference. He said it picked up faster. I am going for a drive tomorrow and will let you know my reaction.

I drove my G home this morning for a 2.5 hour drive. I thought the MREV was impressive but it seems that the Strup Headers work hand in hand with each other. The car now pulls "throughout the WHOLE powerband". I was pretty damn impressed. Car accelerated so much faster than it did and the torque was just there at WOT 6500 RPM's. I am very happy with this mod.

Good to know. I hope to have my MREV, headers, cats, y-pipe and reducer cone (staying with OEM rear-section) installed within the next week or two. I can finally change my sig.

Damn dude, that's a lot of crap at once. It makes sense to do them all at once, but I would suggest (if you have the luxury of time, and/or money for installation costs), to do each separately. Combining all those at once, it will be hard to tell what mods actually did what, if you know what I mean.

Regardless, that's awesome. I am very envious now. After you put that crap on, go to the drag strip. In good conditions, I see 13.5's in your future.

The parts should work with each other and the combo should yield more gains than any of these by themselves, so I'm not that concerned with knowing what gives the biggest hit, just in how big of a hit they'll result in. I know the MREV/Cats/Headers combo should be sweet, and the other stuff is just in support of those.

It's a snowball effect. I know I want the MREV installed, so I might as well stick the G-Tube on. I've wanted to install the Headers / Y-Pipe / reduction cone for a long while, so I might as well do the Cats at the same time. That was the rationale for going ahead and buying those.

Besides, I get tired of seeng parts sitting around, waiting for installation.
