SUNROOF is NOISY when opening and closing!!! This can't be normal!???

My sunroof has become louder and louder when opening and closing. I can't describe the sound... Do I need to lubricate it or something?

I have an 05 and I have only had the car for a few months. Has anyone else experienced this?

Take it back to the dealer. Hopefully it just needs to be lubed and not the gears. Nonetheless, it's covered by warranty. btw...mines is quiet and smooth *Knock on wood*

It's been cold and RAINING a lot here in SF, CALI... so maybe that has something to do with it?

I don't want to leave it at the dealership for 8 hours for them to lube it so I am going to lube it myself...

What should I use? lithium or silicone?

Just take it to the dealer, as with everything else in this car they will just lube it up and send you on your way (should last for a while).

ps binar, I like the gorillaz avatar...

I've taken mine back several times. They just lube it then the noise goes away. I'm convinced quick detailer dries the rubber seals up causing them to squeak or creak every few months.
