In my vette I've been a tad over 170 out on a stretch of road between phoenix and San diego...flattest emptiest road Ive ever seen. It was still pulling pretty good! I assume it probably woulda got near 190 by the rate I was accelerating (its a bit modded).

This xmas I gave the G35 a bit of gas on the way across the country again and I let off around 130....it just accelerates so much slower it feels like there's tons of time for a cop to catch me. Maybe with 200 hp more I'd give a 150+ a shot in a G35.

Another factoid I learned on my trip.....480hp C5 Corvette...30mpg from texas to California. 298hp G35...24mpg from texas to california. Nice.

Proof, please. Any high-10 second timeslip should be fine.

everybody knows that corvettes, esp. the C6s, have excelletn fuel economy despite their engine size.

The G would do better if it had another gear. WAY too much piston travel per mile. However, that what's nice about it, you don't have to shift much in regular traffic.

I've got one spot on FM 202 between Refugio and Beeville TX that has 10 miles of STRAIGHT NEW BLACKTOP! The only thing you might see on that road is a buzzard or two.

i'm convinced the VQ35DE is tuned to run rich across the powerband. another car that tends to run rich is the WRX. my SR powered S13 is tuned with a powerfc standalone. putting about 350whp @18psi, it gets around 26mpg highway driving (from road atlanta to jersey). remember the G35 has a lot of weight working against it. my goal is to get a UTEC and have it tuned ideally for N/A mods.

Its so weird what a difference gearing has between cars.. G35 coupe 6spd or sedans struggle getting up to 140 let alone 160 and my stock M3 would get up there in a breeze and still pull so hard. Then my M3 with 530+ hp and toraue, lightweight and so on was pulling up to 175 in not ime with still having so much pull, and now my porsche turbo at stage 2, forget about it !!

My sedan though after even driving my turbo still feels so quick on the street and short acceleration bursts or from a dead stop, but from a highway 60mph start its so damms low
