what should should I expect when I take my car for service?

Hey

I was wondering what I should expect when I take my car for service at a Infiniti dealership? Do they give cars to drive even during oil changes? what kind of accommodations?

Thanks

Mahdi

Mahdi,

Each dealership is different in what it offers to its customers. I have been to one where I needed to pay $5 for the G35 Sedan loaner car and to another where the loaner car was free. I would call the particular dealership(s), which you may have in mind and ask.

DUDE, by me, they do oil changes on the spot so u dont get a rental, but you need to make an appt. ahead of time. But if you go in for real service, your there for less then 10 mins and you are escorted to the door and within 6 feet is a loaner 2005 g35X already warmed up waiting for you with a full tank of gas.

If you're there for warranty you should ALWAYS get a loaner, you can expect a free wash (if u always wash your car byurself i would refuse the wash or at least tell them no armorall). if it is your first time go find your sales guy and ask if he can give you a discount. and you can always ask the advsior/serivce manager for a discount

get to know one of the service managers so he can hook u up sometimes. I always get my loaner for free while other people gotta pay $15 or so. I also got quoted for sattelite radio for $350 installed which I plan to do soon. Seriously, be friendly with them.

yah man... sometimes friendly works and sometimes it doesn't depends on the other person too, I normally am a nice person to talk to so when I went in for my first service the guy told me $15 dollar charge for loaner car and you need to pay for brakes being checked if they don't need to be changed under warranty... I walked out paying for none of those services.

I got a free wash and vacuum.

but.. wow.. I didn't enjoy driving the loaner car.. I got a G35 sedan with big stickers on the side of them commercializing the dealership.. but whatever it's just a loaner... atleast I enjoyed the XM sattelite in it.

you could expect about 10 phone calls from customer service regarding the service you got

Like others have said, it will up to each dealership, from what I understand is, if any service needs more than an hour to do? they will offer an loaner, but noramlly, the minor service like oil change and such? you would need 4~5 days advance notice to get a loaner, some dealership charges 5 dollars or more and some just simply tells you to bring it back with same level of gas as when you get it.

One thing you can expect is crappy service so don't be surprise with that. Be surprise if you get better than normal service. No loaner for oil changes.

to get ripped off, calipers nicked, wheels scratched, and they will even follow all that up with a free brillo pad wash! Good luck!
