GOT MY G35 !!!
Hey there,
I got my G35 Coupe this evening!! I am really excited, this car is absolutely amazing. This car is too nice...I must have spent about 30 minutes in my garage, just staring at it (and a few hours driving it, of course). The manual transmission is insanely smooth and blah blah blah. You guys all have G35 Coupes, so I don't need to explain the car and how I'm feeling. =)
I don't know how to upload pictures, so I will just give links:

The pictures go from 01.JPG all the way through 09.JPG. Make sure you capitalize the "JPG" file extension, and tell me what you think!!
By the way, my car was supposed to have the Aero Package (which I'm only decently fond of), so it was a great surprise to find no spoiler on the rear...yay !!

congrats man. That car is the $hit. Your going to love it i have that exact same model with color and interior color. Sexiest [censored] you can get man. Just tint the windows and you got a batmobile. And try not to break 3500 - 4000 rpm. You want your engine to be the best and ur transmission to last. So shift smooth.

Congratulations MrE. Most of us have had that "reverie" moment (or two, or ten) you describe of just staring at the car in abject, slack-jawed adoration. It's such a classy, elegant combination of conservative and sporty looks it's absolutely mesmerising. I still find myself doing it surprisingly often, but try to do so inconspicuously, and frankly feel slightly self-conscious as I do. I mean, it's just a car, right? People would probably think I'm nuts staring at my own car like that. Of course, where the G35C is concerned, they'd be right...

Thanks, guys. I am enjoying every minute of this car, whether I am driving it or not. This car is pure eye candy...it is as much fun to look at as it is to drive...well, not really (because the drive kicks ***) but you guys know what I mean. I am truly impressed with all the attention it gets on the road, too. I went to my local gas station to fill up the tank and all eyes were on my car! This is too much fun, I'm gonna go drive again...

Thanks, it's a climate-controlled 12-car garage. As you can see from some of the pics, it is just crowded with other random toys. =P
Only one thing is bothering me...the gas mileage sucks! The trip computer says I am getting like 13mpg or so. Of course, this is due to the fact that it's a brand-new engine.

Right, although 13 MPG is REALLY low. Doing a lot of driving in traffic and/or with a heavy foot? That might explain it. Otherwise, it should improve within a few hundred miles into the 20-ish range. I get 24.2 average now, after 2700 miles, about 85% of which is highway. I don't have a very heavy foot most of the time.
The early, rapid improvement in gas mileage is one of the main reasons I decided to break the car in by the book, in spite of my salesman (incorrectly) telling me "there's no break-in on these cars". It seems to be a clear indication that something important is changing in the first few dozen engine hours.

I had my salesman try to tell me the same thing when I was looking to purchase the car. Of course, once I bought it, he changed his tune and recommended a proper break-in.

But I think overall, BMW has a much sweeter exhaust note. The G35 Coupe engine is just a 3.5 liter V6 with a fun exhaust setup."

Yup, I posted that on BMWBoard, I am a member there as well. I was not referring to this forum (G35Driver.com) or the members of this forum, though. I am a G35 Coupe owner, not a BMW owner, that alone is justification enough. Sorry, guy. =)

Yup, I am a long-time member at the BMWBoard, but I also like this forum a lot. The Infiniti forum that I strongly dislike will remain anonymous. Everyone at BMWBoard really respects the G35 Coupe...only positive comments so far (but I am also trying not to present my car on that board as a "BMW Beater" because that's when things get bad). I just got home from a pointless drive with my little brother (8 yrs old) to a nearby mall, and I am still shocked at how much power this car packs!! When I was pulling in, I looked behind me at my brother and asked, "So you like my car?" And he smiled and nodded approvingly. =)
Anyways, I love this forum and the BMWBoard, so I hope nobody minds if I chill at both.
