Im such an idiot <PICS>
sorry to hear about it, but at least you not injured.
these cars handle very very well.
Like Andy2434 said, "The G's handle quite well. It's usually the drivers, whom exceed their own driving abilities or exercise bad choices."
so, why would you have your vdc off in the rain? and why would you hit the gas hard around the corner in the rain with vdc off, knowing that your car would skid?
anyway, was the frame bent or damaged? because if it was, then your car will never be the same. If not, then if should be ok.
good luck

My car almost ate it this weekend in the snow. The VDC saved all. According to Caltrans no chains were required, but apparently the stock summer tires don't like the snow.
Even at 10 mph it wanted to go sideways.
I remember turning it off for a second,, and turning it back on 10 seconds before the accident, I dont remember... Im a very safe driver and this has been my first accident,, i just messed up this time...maybe ill just take a little loss on the car and get an 07 when they come out.

Man i'm glad you and no one else was hurt; never turn VDC off unless the weather is fine or you get some years of experience behind you.
It's definitley possible that if the frame is bent or damaged bad enough that they can write it off and say it's totalled, because that would really destroy the integrity of your car. And, if it is bent bad, you might as well tell them to write it off, cuz you wouldn't want to drive that car, it just isn't the same when your frame is damaged. I'm sure they can fix it no matter the condition of the frame, but it would be a waste of time and money.
But, from you pics, it doesn't seem like the frame is bent and damage doesn't seem terribly bad. Did the guy at the collision center tell you it's bent or something? Have them triple check.

I bent the two front frame rails on my G and the rear 'pan' and the insurance company cut me a check for ~$19,000. The car was valued at $28,000+ and not enought to total out the car. They can lift the engine really easily, unbolt the frame rails, use a laser alignment tool and put the frame rails back on then reassemble the engine. This isn't very hard to do and as long as you didn't do any major suspension damage your car will drive FINE.
People who say "your car will never drive the same" are either misinformed (to say the least) or they're just idiots giving you a hard time. If the frame between the wheels isn't bent the car will track perfectly fine if the wheels are properly aligned.
BTW, your car isn't totaled and my guess is that it can be fixed for $10k or less, depending on the extent of the damages that the pictures aren't showing.

Think positive. Your not hurt and the car is fixable. Things coulda been a lot worse. Just be sure to take it to a very reputable body shop and your car will come out fine and drive just like it did before. Also make sure to spec ONLY genuine Infiniti parts. You have the right to them BUT you have to specify it. Do it in writing to your insurance company and the body shop you choose to do the work. Let us know how you make out.
Good luck.
