I'd like to see how you can substantiate that one. Umm, a good way is to show us your trophies??? If you have any that is... Or your track times, umm what compared to, what other non-racers like ourselves? Come on let's really be serious here. I give credit to where it's deserved and I will say that those who track their cars experience what others who don't do, but to say that you're an expert driver of the G just because you track your car is a big stretch.
Anyway, I wasn't pointing my comment towards your direction, but since you just happened to throw yourself in the line of fire you can take this one to your limits too.
"Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, you obviously had VDC turned off which was stupid in the first place especially in the rain. I autox and have autox in the rain. VDC will no matter what keep the car under control even in the rain. I have even tried to FORCE the car to loose control with VDC on, no can do."
I agree, driving in the rain with VDC off is asking for trouble. But VDC wont always save you. I was still able to lose complete control of my car with VDC on. This was on a dry day (although, the turn I lost it on had a little water on it). I'll tell ya though, the VDC system was trying its hardest to correct everything because as I was spinning out of control, I could feel and hear the brakes doing all sorts of things. Not to mention the "SLIP" light going crazy LOL.

atleast your ok man, dont worry you will get that G back on the road looking better than ever, mines in the shop due to some rain problems of my own
but i hope the best turns out for ya man

Man, that sucks.. but just looks like bumper fenders and a hood. Anyway, Its amazing to see how people think these cars are hard to drive. I have no problme in the rain with mine, I feel safer driving the G in the rain than my F150.. these cars are 50/50 weight ratio, and weigh almost 3400 pounds.. shouldnt be much of a problem. I grew up driving fox body stangs which were VERY VERY light in the rear and made a lot mor TQ.. now those were crazy cars in the rain..
No VDC in a 90 5.0 coupe..
No VDC in a 90 5.0 coupe..
I have many trophys. And I have no need to show a idiot like you on the net them. Everyone knows people who actually race are 90% of the time a better driver in the real world period. Track times all are different depending on the track setup. So that is unrelated. You wouldn't know that since you don't race.
I am a better driver with the G35 (not a expert which you assume) than most people on here. I know its limits. I have done many manuvers with the G35 and people are amazed I kept control of it.
No, I never put myself in the line of fire. Just correcting mis-information spewed.

As another person who tracks and auto-x's frequently, I concur with G35_TX regarding VDC. To have the car completely lose control with VDC, you have to be doing something really really retarded.
Every time I read threads like these and feel for my fellow G35 brethren, but at the same time I am glad they no longer are driving on the streets due to their careless errors in judgment.
Spare me the everyone makes mistakes routine also. There is a huge difference between a lapse in judgment leading to a mistake/accident and being downright careless.

Getting back to the subject at hand. IMO, the VDC is a good safety net to have on at all time, but that is left to everyone's personal taste and judgement. Even though the idiot savant keeps stating that there is no way to break a car loose or loose control with the VDC on, it is completely false. You can loose control even with the VDC on. It would take an extreme manuver, but it still can be done. See I was able to say that simple comment without all sorts of tales of many trophies and doing super manuvers that people ooh and ahh about.

Okay, I apologize for calling you a "idiot". But don't come at me like you are better than me bit when you have never raced.
I am not the only one here as you can see from above that knows VDC will pretty much save you in every condition unless you are down right doing something stupid.
I never said it wouldn't loose control period with VDC on. I said unless your spinning out of control then VDC usually will keep the car under control. You might want to go back and read again.
Don't ask if I had trophys then!
First of all, you single handedly presume yourself to be an "expert" driver then you go on to state that I am an idiot. You must be one of them idiot savants. This "idiot" couldn't care less how many trophies you've won on the special olympics circuit, as your small corner of the world means nothing to me.

Please go back and re-read my posts. I never "went at you" and stated I was a better driver. Any by the way, I did race and even was a license carrying amatuer racer and raced in sanctioned races, not just track time. Also, my statement is, then and now, that you CAN break a car loose even with the VDC on. That the VDC can't break a law of physics. Second, I just made a comment, not directed at anyone in particular, of what makes an "expert" driver an "expert" driver. For some reason "you" took this as a personal attack and felt the need to lash out at me. That is the extent of it, and of course two grown men can agree to disagree.
