Man, what a unlucky week it has been. I was just rear-ended by some woman at a stoplight yesterday. Today I went to Passport Infiniti to get the bumper re-painted. So I was driving back from the dealership back home. Then guess what, I damn truck rear ends me at a stoplight because he was going 30mph over the speed limit and sandwiches me between a subaru outback which was infront of me. Thank god everyone was okay, my car was the only one with significant damages. Heres some pics I took with my phone. The quality ain't that good, but here it is.

chances are, they won't total it and it will take 2-3 months to repair. I'm going to write a letter to that trucking company demanding the following.
1. Pay for rental car fee's
2. Pay my deductable from my insurance company, OR have their insurance company pay for ALL the damages
3. Pay the difference of the value my car lost before and after the collision.

If they don't agree to these terms which I am not even asking that much, I will see them in court.

First of all, they are driving a commercial 3 axle truck. Going 55+mph on a 35mph residential 1 lane road. I was also stopped when he hit me, so it is entirely his fault. I also have witnesses who gave me their business cards if I needed their statement in court. Now, all I need is a good traffic/accident lawyer. Also, I'm feeling some symtoms of whiplash trauma, I'm going to get it checked out tomorow.

wow that sucks man but at least ur all right. Did the airbags work and how was it in the crash.

How were the airbags? It is sad to look at those pics. hope everyone makes a full recovery..including your G.

 

Airbags did not deploy. Maybe cause I was at a stop? I dunno, I think they only deploy if you're going 35+mph. But the pedals collapsed and the drivers seat tilted backwards.

The active headrest probably engaged, but the intertial sensor for the airbags (just behind the grille) didn't get a "going fast, now stopping" feeling, so none of that... later

Sorry to hear about your accident. I was in a similar accident and the physical pain didn't completely become evident until a couple of days went by. For me it would be a no brainer - see a good lawyer immediately.

When you write the letter mention that you have been having headaches since the accident but they are not that bad yet and you'd like to just get this all behind you if they will go ahead and pay for what you ask...
