uh... okay = =; but seriously I've never hit 7k rpm, I shift at 2.5~3k. Please do not stereotype. I don't do stupid stuff on the road.

Oh man, this thread is gonna blow up now. Not sure why you had to post. You've really opened yourself up, but I like it! I will suggest hoiwever, that you take your Micardis or whatever heart meds you take, that is if you decide to check this thread tomorrow! RX

Your response relating hip degeneration to a stroke prompts me to ask, are you a" large" or "small" animal specialist and didn't they warn you in Vet school not to practice on humans? Heh,heh ........ (I'm betting the "Doc" considers anything over 3500 RPM's as 'tightly wound') ........... !!
PS Next chance I get I'm gonna "clip" one a them Fat Asses in the Jazzy's in the Walmart parking lot.

Is your car a stick? i notice that makes you sit a lot closer. NE way, the G is nothing compared to sitting in a sports car for 30 minutes. after i got the G my backpain went away, as compared to my previous car - a vette

Typically for rides more than 30 minutes my back starts to hurt around the middle of the spine. This does not happen when I'm driving other cars only the G35. The pain goes away after I get out of the car and walk around for a few minutes. Any suggestions ?

The G has multiple ways of adjusting the driver's seat and the steering wheel, and the seats are wide enough to accomodate the vast majority of its drivers comfortably. I hate to be the barer of bad news but you probably have a back problem. I'm old enough to be your father and I have absoluutely no problems dring my G on long trips.

The best thing to do is to experiment with different sitting positions. I'm confident that you'll eventually find a position that will be much better for your back.

Good luck.

stretch out before you get into the car. the g35 coupe seats arent like the sedan seats which you can recline all the way and lean back while you drive. the coupe will be supportive and help you be very comfortable while sitting up like you're autocrossing around town

Typically I drive with the seat a little bit reclined, and my knees not locked when fully depressing the clutch. and the last two buttons at the lowest setting.

I've read the post about someone bitching about it and got an M3 instead but I'm not selling my G .

edit: I'm 5 feet 9 inches tall
If it's due to insuficient support in one area...
(eg. if the small of your back doesn't line up with the lumbar support)

Find a local seat upholsterer & get them to add additional foam support where needed.

Hey cloud, Today i was messing around with the lumbar support and it is actually ineffective for the most part. It seems to have been developed for real tall people because after a few degrees of lumbar, it starts to put too much pressure above the actual part of the spine where it is needed. the spine curves inward (called lordosis) at the base of the sacrum and then starts to curve outward where it seems to be placing the most pressure when fully used.
anyway, i would go with a seat cover that will add the proper support where needed. I would say unless you are over 6'1" or so it sucks. RX

COULD THIS BE MISCONCEPTION???

I went to LA auto show few weeks ago and I saw the new 06 G with pretty projector eyes. After seeing all the posts about 06, I found no interest taking a closer look at it. My gf on the other hand would like to give it a try. So she sat in and found out a couple things that I didn't see in the posts:

1) Navigation is one touch sliding up and down, unlike our crappy one push-all-the-way *click*

2) The seat looked the same, but oh my do they feel different from the 04 I have. The seat on the 06 felt softer on the back and hip side and the lumper support beneath the thigh was not as hard. Overall, I am not sure when they change the material of the seats.

Perhaps those people who do not care about these back pain and sore thigh/legs complaints simply because they are having different seats? Only if I can confirm the timing Infiniti changes the design/material of the driver's seat...

Cloud: to solve your problem, try PHITEN. Phiten has products that are designed to sooth your body ache and sore muscles. It works to certain level for my neck (not caused by G's seat) and my sore leg (this comes from my G). I bought some phiten patches and stick to the back of my thigh whenever I feel my sore leg is getting serious. So far so good~

Just my 2 cents.

Phiten???????, (whatever that is, i assume over the counter type muscle relaxer/anti inflammatory although sounds like eastern medicen reliever) will at best, mask the symptoms. CLOUD, The signs point to low back AND upper back WEAKNESS! EXERCISE YOUR BACK, GLUTES AND NECK MUSCLES! Just give it a try and repost at a later time (4-6 weeks). just do a search and get a good overall back exercise program, dont over do it the first week and i will gaurantee you will feel less pain after a longer period of time driving. If the pain however gets worse, it must be nerve/disc/vertebrae related. obviously at worst, a tumor. but i assure you, at your age, is unlikely!
