End Spots are the way to go...
I had an MX6 before my G. I spnt $00 to get all of the dings out of it (pretty cheap/ there weer about 8 ding s total) I started parking only on end sponts, after 3 years still had no dings. Just make sure that the end spot is spacious enough that you can get your wheels close to the curb and put some distance between you and the other parking spot.

i think i know why people like to park next to our car. the reason is because they know we take care of our baby and that there is no way in hell that we will scratch or ding their car. Same philosphy can apply to us. When i look for a space, i always try to park next to a nice car cause the likely hood that person will damage my car is very low. my 0.02 cents

I now what you all mean. I always park in an area where there's not much chance of somebody parkijng next to me. Of course someone always has to try. About two weeks ago when I was leaving work, I saw a full sized van leaving from being parked next to me. I went over and checked the side of the car 'cause it looked like they parked kinda close, and wouldn't you know it. There's a nice little ding just behind the door now. I'll never see this van again, and I'm going to have to pay to fix it. Valet's are just as bad. I was at Lowe's of Beverly Hills after having eye surgery and the next morning when the valet was pulling my car out for us, I saw him tap the truck next to my car. I didn't see the damage at first because my eyes were still kinda blurry. But two days later after pulling the car out of the garage to go to the car wash, I saw a nice dent on the upper front portion of the right front fender. I took it to the valet and filled out a complaint form and am now waiting for their insurance to call.

Had a hugger this AM. 20+ available spaces. I'm in middle. Low and behold when I came out there a hugger next to me...no other cars. What was interesting someone was in it just sitting there. I stood and watched for about three minutes to see if we were going to get a door swing. The other driver started up and drove off ...I immediately went for a G inspection....no issues.
Another one that gets me....most people park in clusters closest to the building entrance. Lazy!!! I stay away from the cluster parkers...and eventually someone drive up next to me. Go figure.

I park in a parking garage at home. The other day I walk out and see a long white scrape/scratch behind my drivers side wheel well. It was white, my car is black. I have a white car parked next to me, sure enough, their front bumper has a huge section of paint missing...They didn't even bother to move their car afterwards...!?!?! Luckily I drive a 98 Maxima and not a brand new G35
I gotta say, even though my car isn't expensive... I tend to park next to higher priced cars because I know there is less chance that they will hit my car. So even if the car parked next to you in the middle of nowhere isn't as nice as your G, there is a good chance he/she appreciates a little security as well.
