Just Purchased M45 Push Button Start need help with install.
Same as tittle. aka. engine start button.
I am curious on how to tap into the ignition system and install the button. I have seen that I need to get a relay, and I am curious as to where I can purchase one, and what is needed to install it. I am not new to car modification but I am new to doing anything electrical, so I need to know what I need to buy to do this install.
Anyone have a write up.
Any info would be great, thanks.

What year is your G and is it a AT or MT? The G's anti-theft system is going to be your biggest challenge. If you have a 06 AT with the intelli-key, then your project will go easier. If you have anything else, will need to have the chip-key close to the button upon starting.

It doesn't need the chipkey.. The way the push button start works is you stick the key into the ignition like you were to start the car and turn it to the on position, after that you push the button.
What's the point aside from the bling factor? If you have to turn the key to on, you might as well keep turning to start right?

There's no point.. It's for bling =/
I wouldn't mind having one.. but it just seems like it could be a hassle.. especially if the car isn't starting.. adds in more factors.. Is it the starter wiring..? Or did the engine croak?

I brought my into a shop but from what I heard it's a pretty easy DIY and that diagram above explains some of it. Theres no point to having the button but it provides a 'cool' factor and it helps restarting when I stall because all I have to do is press the engine start button instead of going through the key process.

Ok, I have the dash apart and the button is installed into the dash ( it looks great btw), I just don't have the wires conected. I want to use wire taps instead of cutting the ignition, start 1, and start 2 wires because if I cut them it will void the warrenty on my electrical system. Every write up I have found for other cars requires cutting the wires, and I dont want to do that. The other write ups mention nothing about the starter 2 wire and I need to know where to connect that to my relay. I also need to know something that I can connect the power wire from start button to, that gives the button power. Can any one help me or point me in the right direction with this. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks
