Strange whistling sound when accelerating

Weird. I have a 04 G35 5AT, and only after I got my sound system installed, I noticed that I hear this noise. It sounds much like an electronic whistling noise though.. a bit like a supercharger whine.
Maybe someone installed a supercharger while you weren't looking?

i'd say its your intake suckig in air...i heard it a little before, but after my z-tube and popcharger install it sounds like i have TT's under the hood, expeciall WOT from 4200-6400 rpm...
It sounds like a few people are experiencing it. Just glad i'm not alone here. Like some of the other comments I'm going to wait and see. I'm not even 200 km into my ride yet so...
Fireblade,
Ref your q- does this whistling continue when the car is warmed up, or at some point, does it stop?
Why? Until warm, when it's cold out, my 05 Coupe exhaust whistles, until the pipes expand and seal. Then all is right with the world. My 03 Coupe did not have this problem.
If it sounds intake related, then check the routing of the vacuum hose coming off the intake. It is long and routed in such a way as for it to be possible for it to be kinked, even slightly. My 03 was in this boat. Reworking the routing such that the hose was free to flow cured the problem in less than 5 minutes. The real plus here is that your performance will improve by making this correction. Find the hose that comes off your intake and follow it. You may want to remove the four bolts and engine cover to do so- easy stuff.
If you have an aftermarket intake or Z-tube, where the hose is connected opposite to its normal "relaxed" position, then you have a higher probability that this is your issue, and the whistling will be more pronounced. Monkeying around with that hose is the most annoying part (albeit minor at that) of any Z-tube install.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Derek

Thanks derek, I will try your suggestiong by looking for a kink. Yeah i heard about the wierd noises when the car is cold but I definitely hear it more than 5-10 minutes in of driving, so I don't think warm up is much of an issue.
Car is completely stock - just got it 2 days ago and I'm still in la-la land...whistle or no whistle.

mine dose the same exact thing (I have a 06 6MT) and mine just started to do it (at around 1300-1500+) and now I have 1800miles. The loudest point is 3-4k on mine also. My mom has a 04 murano and he car dose the samething, but it starts as soon as you hit the gas.

Its a normal sound for 05s and 06's. I wondered the same thing when i got my 05 coming from an 04 coupe. Its a normal sound. Not sure what it is exactly but you're not alone. I dont notice it as much anymore
