look what happend to my high-flow Cat.~!
its been a while since i notice a small exhaust leak sound coming from bottom of my car.. didn't notice any power loss so i just ignored it.. man i guess i'm paying for my stupidity... about 2-3 weeks ago i got a SES light and went to Autozone and checked for a code. and found out it was something to do with exhaust leak.. again i just drove around with SES light on and last Sunday everything just went WRONG~! as soon as i got on the freeway my cat busted.. and my car sounded like i was running open headers. i got off and turned around and came home. next day i lifted the car and found that welded area of my convt. and the pipe was completely seperated and half of my cat. pip was hangin on my Y-pipe.. (thank god i have a well made Y-pipe).. so i got a set of new cat. convt. and i'll be puttin these on.. new one are alot better quality... (I HOPE) i thought i share with ya'll so here are some pictures.~! funny isn't it? i was shocked and pissed to find this happen...
HERE ARE SOME PICTURES OF MY NEW CAT. CONVT.

What kind of HF cats are those?
It looks like those cats don't have any support brakets that attach to the tranny support, like the stock ones. This happens on some test pipes too. The weight of the exhaust and y-pipe are now put on the cats to hold everything up. Since the stock cats have support brakets in the middle, there isn't as much pressure on the welds. I think this is the cause.

i guess a small leak on high flow cat cause this... the welded area was where it al just cracked and...... it was all caused because of a small leak just kept gettin bigger... like how a small crack on windshield just gets longer and longer...but yes i called the company who made this and they said since only one cat is craked i have to pay $130 if i want to replace both.... this was a kinetix racing high flow cats.

that's a weird weld job. i work for a stainless steel company... we do welding all day long. doesn't look like the weld was fully penetrated at all. plus i'm really confused as to why they have a piece of that pipe leading into the cat itself. should have been cut shorter so both pieces join up flush. almost looks like all they did was use filler metal to hold the pieces together. sad.

This is the 3rd time I read about Kinetix cats breaking apart like that. I would've raised enough **** if I were you to get my money back and get Crawford or something that's better quality.
