Tow chain 1, Intercooler 0
Well if any of yall saw my thread about my power steering problems, you would know that my intercooler got damaged by the tow chain/hook. For thos that dont know, in the process of loading the car onto the tow truck, the driver gor the chain/hook of the tow truck caught between the intercooler and the deck of the flat bed. Im in the process of getting the intercooler replaced. So it will be nice and shiny for the new owner.

yes, its still functional, but thats no excuse for them to not replace it. they damaged it bad enough to notice from far away, and so they need to replace it since you can't repair an intercooler

Bummer, Sorry to see this.
Did you pressure test the IC? Based on the pics it doesnt look that bad, lowest primary horizontal bar wasn't touched just the fins below it. Even if it had a puncture on the outer case, you might be able to TIG/MIG it. Ive run with IC that were beaten nicely, but still were efficient coolers.
Good Luck

the simple fact is that i told the operator at infiniti roadside that my car was lowered and had modification. thus needing something to help get the car on the flatbed. that information never made it to tow truck driver, so he didnt bring anything. so in any case they caused the damage and have to be held liable for it. i am not paying for it to be replaced, and i dont know anyone that can fix an intercooler in the lubbock area.
