Guys,
My 04 6mt coupe is making a clunking noise while idleing.. It will do it once every 20 sec or so. the rpms drop a little at that time as well.. any ideas?

yup i have that too! its normal in our cars i think..its sounds like the clutch is chattering or something...

it happens when the car knocks, or misses a cylinder firing.....idle drops a little......

i just noticed this same effect a few days ago. maybe it's been around for awhile, but I just put on 19'' and started to "listen" to everything that car is telling me. and this noise at idle def doesn't sound nice.

does anybody else have that problem and tried to convey it to their dealerships?

I have the same noise when I am sitting idling for a while too. Its like a clunk or thud type sound every 20 secs or more. I was wondering what it was myself. I couldn't figure it out. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one and it seems to be normal. I have an '05 AT coupe btw.

what octane did you use to fill up? i have seen many posts here having their cars making clunking noises and it was because they put in to low octane. usually like <89

happens to my car too.. engine is all stock. hiccups ever so often on idle. kinda annoying. my parent's 1993 dodge van idles smoother than this.

I too, when sitting in N at a stop light, will feel a slight tremble at idle. WTF. Why should I feel ANYTHING at all. Its a nearly $40,000 car with only 6K miles on it!

BTW don't put any less than 93 in it or it will knock. OH, and stay away from BP fuels. Too many additives to confuse your engine!

I have an 04 as well with the same noise. Every 20 seconds or so a strange clunk noise. I don't know if it has anything to do with the exhaust or octane of gas but I had a TN turbo kit installed 2 weeks ago and I have been using 94 octane and my cats are now gone and I haven't noticed the noise yet.
