For All Those Cpmparing the G35C and the RX8

you gotta check this thread out...

http://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthrea...hreadid=144939

a quick summary is that the rx8's hp original hp figures are being revised due to the low hp numbers actually being generated on dynos. the new numbers are now 197/238.

however mazda usa is handling this situation in a very well manner. read the thread for more info

I'm glad to see Mazda is stepping up with cash, and free maintenance for the screwup.
I would hope that other manufactureres would have a similar remedy in a similar situation.

A while ago Lexus screwed up on the weight of the new LX470. A lot of people bought it as a tax write off because it weighed enough to be considered a work vehicle. The actual weight was below the cutoff for the write off, so Lexus offered to buy back anyone's LX470 that wanted to. They kept it very hush hush.

Is it possible that ANY publicity, even bad, is better than none?

This seems to be a "Ford" thing. Mazda's 30+% owned by Ford and is headed by a Ford guy from Dearborn. Remember: it's not only the Miata and now the RX8. It's also the '99 or '00 Cobra Mustang! That's three in three years. A bit much of a coincidence, wouldn't you say? But it does gain publicity and kudos for "doing the right thing", "stepping up to the plate", "making it right". Hmmmm.

Mrelussive,

g35c is a sport luxury coupe and rx-8 is a pure sport car, shouldn't rx-8 be competing with the 350z instead?

Re: For All Those Cpmparing the G35C and the RX8

i was just posting this thread because of other threads that were posted comparing the two vehicles. the rx8 isnt really a pure sports car, the honda s2000 is but the rx8 is well...i dont really know.

either way id take the g35c over the rx8 anyday.

Uhmmmm...."true sports car" don't come with 4 doors.
The RX8 is obviously the end result of way too many focus groups. Typical for Ford tho.
