Accident

Well, I spun out today on the wet roads and spun into a metal barrier. However, since I was spinning i only nicked the metal and it scratched the bumper. I went to get an estimate today and they guy told me almost $900 to sand down and paint the area: this seemed a little high but I wasn't sure. I will try to post pictures tomorrow cuase I know its hard to say without seeing it, but based on the description, what do you think? How much do you think it should cost to sand it down and repaint it, and how much would it be to replace the entire bumper?

Thanks,

Hockeyplay95

I don't know about replacing the whole bumper but if you just scratched your bumper, it should cost at the very very most $300-$400 for a repair and spray.

For 900 bucks? Did you go to a dealership? Is he a Ferrari Scratch and Dent specialist?

If everywhere else says 900 for a "scratched bumper", then just treat yourself to a nice new bumper from Top secret or whatever.

it seems a little high... put the pics might do more justice to the post....

however ... if you are going to shell out $900... why not just get an aftermarket bumper... sell the scratched one for $100 or so (if it is only a scartch as you claim)....

LOL, That's grand larceny..... A new one is less than that.

I just had the front bumper cover replaced and painted. Cost with labor about $576.00 looks great.

Too high

$900 is way too much. I had my wife's Mazda M6 sanded and painted for $850.

That is way too much. I had to replace the whole rear bumper and it only cost me $500. To just repaint it should be way cheaper. Those ******* think you have a big 'sucka' on your forehead. Don't let them cheat you like that.

I'd just leave it the way it is. Probably more coming with the next spin out.

Thats way to high on a repair for just a scratch. I would get a second and third estimate before you do anything.
If it's just a scratch I would leave it alone and wait for the next time you get a little scratch or dent. Good luck.
