Is it just me......or does it boggle anyones elses mind that a teenager is gettin a $30,000+ car!??!!

I was picking up some stuff from my drycleaner yesterday, and my car was parked right in the front spot, facing the store. While waiting for the credit card machine to print, she looked at me and said "You know, don't take this the wrong way, but you look way too young to be driving such an awesome looking car". hehe... I love hearing that

Re: Hi ppl again

endlesswaltz112 - Your asking people from a G35 forum between which car you should pick between what they bought or a car they never saw or considered buying. I think you'll know the outcome. BTW, I think your decision was already made even before you made the post but tried to attract some attention to yourself, which is normal for a teenager so don't take it personally. If you really were torn between the 2 cars, you would've ask that question on a much general forum. Instead, you've posted where you know that the opinion is biased, knowing the outcome yourself.

Anyways, I'll answer your question (not that it will matter). Personnally, I think the IS300 is an amazing car. You get the luxury you'd expect from Lexus and the handling is one of it's major point. The only flaw that I see with it is the lack of power but turbo is an easy option. As for the G35, it is also an amazing car but I don't think I need to praise it more since other members before me already did it. As a conclusion, no matter which car you pick, it's a win-win situation in my mind. Both are GREAT!!! Just be happy you can get such great car at such a young age. Your a lucky one.

PS. Don't forget to thank your parents since they are making a big commitment to you.

Re: Hi ppl again

Great...now I think I did a stupid move by making this post......I never thought of it..Your right, its biased.....Well, yeah I am a typical teenager and I just noticed I do that sometimes (attract some attention to myself).

Anyways, thanks ppl for helping me on this..I just had to ask that for some reason...As for the "lil spoiled Asian bratty teen" part, it's partially true. I feel bad about that. I know I said that about myself and I think it's true...........

Re: Hi ppl again

Don't be so hard on yourself. I hope you didn't take my post to personally. I re-read myself and it sounded harsher then it was really intended to be. I was not criticizing you on your age (I hate when people do that on a car forum) but more on your decision to ask that question here but I think you got my point which is great.

As for the "lil spoiled Asian bratty teen" part, I never called you that and would never do so (I don't think that part was directed to me). Heck, anyone calling you that is only jealous cause if they would be in your shoes, they would do the same thing as you. Only you know in your heart if you deserve the car or not, no matter the age. If you work hard at school, help your parents with chores, are a "good" kid, etc.., then you'll know if you deserve the car if your parent can afford it.

Re: Hi ppl again

Hey, I didn't take your post seriously, but I get your point all the way..

I do work hard at school, I joined also some clubs (I don't usually do that) and I'm sorta lazy on chores, but I do them..I guess im 50/50 on the lil spoiled Asian brat. Sorry I didn't reply back few days ago, been busy with school work and this play.

Re: Hi ppl again

yea man, it's cool and all tha u're getin such an awesome car at such an age, but it's also good to hear that u have kept ur end of bargain by doing well in skoo and other stuff, so it's not like ur getin the car for doing absolutely nothing i think thaz cool

but i think i'm kinda in the same shoe as u @ the moment..well not realli but yea, i've been followin closely with g35coupe n 350z for quite a while now, prolyl before i even had a licenes to drive. but although i am payin off half of the cost and the insurance by myself BUT my parents r helpin me out with the other half.
Even though I AM ASIAN, but i am not getin the car as easy as what u all think, i would have to get into one of the top 5 Universities in Canada with a scholarship, and i hope i can get the G as early as the end of this yr, but it's gonna be hard ;|

Re: Hi ppl again

Are you a "lil spoiled Asian bratty teen" because...

as Dat Phan's joke goes... Two Asians walk into a bar... two weeks later.. they own it.

You're parents must own convenience stores, laundry mats, or restaurants. Wish my parents could've bought me a brand new luxury sports car when I was a lil asian brat. My first car was a severely used Datsun B210, cheese color, that could be started by sticking a butter knife in the ignition.

Re: Hi ppl again

b4 i bought my G35 coupe... i was in the same situation... IS300? or G35 coupe?

IS300... i was crazy about it... the way it handles, its just awsome... no wonder its a drift car... N/A supra engine 215 hp... thats enough for everyday driving... and ALSO its a pimp car... girls love IS300s... reliability? its lexus... it prob last at least 10 years w/ out a problem... after market support for IS300 is crazy... they have everything... (twin turbos etc..) BUT i got my G35 coupe... driving my friend's IS300 after getting my coupe... it felt like i was back at my 1st car... 1994 toyota camry... haha and also... IS300 came out 2001... its basically the same car still... G35 is newer... i was worried about 4 door, 2 door problem thing... thats no biggy...

yeah im asian n im 18... going to college soon... if u want the car sooner... tell ur parents... "u dont have to pay a penny, ill work and pay for the car, i promise ill study hard" thats what i did... (cept the last part) i hate ppl around my age, driving a nice *** car being "powered by mommy n daddy"... its not ur car.. its ur parents car...

Re: Hi ppl again

wanted to chime in one last time. everyone who owns a g35 should have to work for this car. the term work will have different meanings for different people. if you have not worked for the g35, please drive it to my place and leave the keys in the car. thank you.

Re: Hi ppl again

It's nice that a teenager's parents are able to buy him an expensive car. The real thing that worries me with teenagers driving high performance cars is their lack of driving experience. 280 hp + teenager = recipe for disaster IMHO.
