Clutch gone?

The car revs up almost like its in neutral or free-revving but the car barely accelerates...happens when you really start to give it gas...Clutch fried?? worse?
Thanks

Yes, it does. If not covered under warranty, consider upgrading with aftermarket parts.

The car is under warrenty but I didn't think they covered friction parts clutch, brakes, etc. I was thinking going NISMO with some fo the parts because the work would still be covered because they are still Nissan/infiniti parts...

If i'm not mistaken since Nissan/Infiniti will always replace the Flywheel when replacing the clutch i saw a post here that he was quoted around $2K. I say go buy JWT clutch or Clutch/Flywheel combo and replace it your self. Plus since clutch is not covered, replacing this mean they won't charge you for labormaybe I'm wrong.

if your clutch, throw out bearing, and flywheel are truly shot, then they all will be replaced under warranty. this is if and only if they have no more go left in them. I am telling you this b/c the same thing happened to me: clutch was DEAD, took it to dealership and they confirmed my suspicion. Next day had a brand new clutch, flywheel, and throwout bearing all under warranty. Service manager even brought the old one out to show me how bad it was.
I guess it depends on the dealership, but from my personal experience with the same problem, it is covered under warranty.
They had also agreed to install my clutchmaster Stage 3, provided i got it to them before the new factory parts came in. I was too late so they put in the stock clutch.
good luck man. hope that helped you.

Lojacc, what dealer was this and how many miles did you have before your clutch went? Strange that they covered in under warranty.

Update: Just got off the phone with the service manager, he has agreed to replace ALL parts with NISMO brand parts for 2k out the door. I tried to talk to him about maybe a JWT package instead but he wanted nothing of it. Worth it??
