My friend and I were messing around with our cars and I gave my G a fair amount of gass and took off. The car took off quick, I slid back in my seat, & pulling it out of gear. It mad a VERY loud BANG. SO loud that my friend thought i lost my trainee or rear. The car feels fine, But i can not help but worry about this. I need to remember to adjust my seat before launching. However i did could not help but notice how easy my car can be pulled out of gear with out the clutch. Has anyone else noticed this.

 

No reason that being pressed a 1/2" into the seat should cause you to pull the car out of gear. Move into a proper seating position. You'll be amazed at how much easier it is to control the car (when you get the rear loose) if your arms aren't already fully extended while driving straight. Your elbows should remain bent (not locked) at all times when you're turning the wheel. Otherwise, your responses are limited to your over-extended arms rather than physics and the car's ability.

I never try to pull it out of gear without the clutch, and I have a good seating position, so this is something that I've never encountered in my G.

 

Were you sitting almost right up against the steering wheel?

 

The clunk you heard was you just disengaging the gears, as long as you heard nothing grind too badly and your tranny feels ok, then your ok.. plus you have a warrenty

Next time dont be all G'd out in your seat when racing!!

put your seat back up.. this will keep you from sliding backwards.
that's what it's there for.

 

That's what happens when you drive on a gangsta lean....

 

Also, keep both hands on the wheel. You only need your hand on the shifter when you are actually shifting, in which case your clutch is going to be down anyway. Resting your hand on there is asking for something like that to happen.
