window pinch question

so the other day im driving down the road, go to roll up my window (cuz i was being gay, and got cold.. i know, i should shoot myself.) anyway.. when the window rolled all the way up, it said "no sir, i dont want to be closed" and rolled back down aobut 4 inches. im sure it was the pinch protection, but why? it never did that in its 2500 miles, so why now? is this a common bug, or do i just have AIDS?

LoL mine did that... i had to hold the button to close it... finally it just gave way... window didnt roll up or down... so warranty took care of that... i think 03-04 g coupe and sedans are known for having the windows go out

Dude, this is such a common problem with Gs. Actually, I just took my coupe into the dealer for this problem for both of my windows. Only happens when you use the Auto-up feature.

The dealer first tried resetting the window regulator. When that didnt work, they just replaced both window motors.

Most dealers will just swap out the motors. My dealer just told me that the some of the motors just go bad and start going haywire.

Anyway, after 38000 miles, I'm happy to have new motors.

By the way, all the dealerships are aware of this problem and will know exactly what your talking about when you call them. So dont worry.

Cool

Older Models (03-04) have a widely known issue with the window Motors given out or "spacing out" on the driver.

I've had my driver side replaced under warranty and am going to get the passenger replaced as well. It's not sticking right now, but it will eventually, or at least that's what I believe, and I'm not about to shell out big $$$ later for a replacement. Use the warranty if you got it!!!!!!

One day I closed the drivers side door pretty hard on accident. Both driver's and passenger side windows rolled down ~3-4 inches and stopped. They weren't broken and would roll back up/down. A different day I wanted to see if it would repeat and it does. This seems intentional to me although I can't think of a reason why.
