Nice complement

I went to the movies tonight and as usual i parked far and away from everyone else. When the movie let out my girlfriend and I were walking behind another couple. As we approached the G i noticed a white SL 600 parked next to my G it turns out it was the couples car that was walking infront of us the guy turned around and saw that the G was mine and actually made me pop the hood and show him the inside of the car we hung out for a few minutes and talked but he was all complements even more so after i told him the price. To make a long story short the complements felt good coming from someone who obviously can buy any toy he wants. Just thought i'd share my small moment.

Re: Nice complement

Nice! I had the same kind of story at the gas station today, an old man(65+) with a recent Porsche 911 N/A ask if I could open the door so he could see inside the car and he told me that my car is just beautiful. I've seen the same old guy driving an M5 1-2 months ago, he always has some racing gloves on. lol

haha. don't laugh, you're going to be "that old guy" sooner than you know it (with the racing gloves).

I am already one of those "Old guys" I do not have the racing gloves but did pick the "G" over a lot of other cars and enjoy it very much, No regrets!!!

Re: Nice complement

feels good doesn't it.......I had an older couple in a nice Mercedes next to me at a stop light. He honked to get my attention and motioned that I roll down my window (I thought he wanted directions or something). He says wow, what a beautiful car, what is it?.....so I had to explain......what a compliment.

Re: Nice complement

I had that happen to me numerous times. People in MB's, Porshas, BMW's name it and they glanced at the G in total awe Many peepz think (or at least when I got it at the beggining of the year) this car is like 60G

Re: Nice complement

I got you all beat,,,While I was walking back from a restaraunt with my girl friend I saw some old guy up against my driver's side window. I chirped the alarm and he turned to tell me that he though the car looked great, color, interior, everything. I showed him the nav and he was thrilled. I said bye (my girl was a little freaked) and I watched him walk over to a Maranello and rev the engine. He gave me a nice "good day" kind of head nod as he sped away at about 1 gazillion miles an hour...

Re: Nice complement

Muranello? Wow!!!
I didn't have anyone with that type of a car complement my G, yet. However, the other day I was picking up some peaches at a local place, and the sales folks there were all over my G. The old lady asked me if I was an engineer or something. And I said, "Well, yes I am". Anyway, it's just nice when people complement nice cars when they see them, unlike some of the BMW snobs. I know there are some good BMW owners, but most of them are cocky.

Re: Nice complement

Went to a Toyota dealership to pick up my girlfriend from getting her car serviced. She was waiting outside sitting on a bench next to a salesman. She heard the salesman say "ooohhhh." She just gave a smile and came running to my car. Within a couple of minutes...every salesman, service manager, even the guys in the parts department came out to see my car. Got compliments from everyone.

Re: Nice complement

Good stories. I had some fun going back and forth with a guy with an M5 (I could tell his car was faster but he was doing the follow real close on my bumper thing). We finally get to a light and he's like "that is a F*CKING fast car man. Beautiful too." Made my day.

An observation I have noticed - the BMW drivers that drive the //Ms seem to give a lot more props for the G. Maybe because they know what a real driving machine is, or maybe it's because they don't feel threatened or intimidated by it like many 3-series drivers do.

Re: Nice complement

Well here's one for everyone. I know this guy who always compliments my G no matter how many times he sees it . Well that guy is me. Now for the other people. Three teenagers said "Nice Car" as I passed by. I waved to say thanks for the compliment. My friend compares the looks to the Aston Martin. He keeps expecting the missles to come out. I could go on and on, but the car is a very exotic looking machine that really makes a lot of people think it is
something very expensive (it is). I have seen high end cars and the G holds it's place. It may not be as fast as some but in it's class, it has few equals.

Re: Nice complement

I have one, I was driving a buddy to watch his wife do a bike race the other day and this guy pulls up next to us at the light and says (in a great Australian accent) Hey mate, how much does it cost for a car like that? I gave him the price and his jaw dropped. He said, I thought with lines like that it was in the 100K range! My buddy later made short time of telling everyone as work what had happened. Pretty cool to be treated like you have a 100K car, but hard on the modesty!

Re: Nice complement

I got waved through a constuction zone, two guys about 1/4 mile apart with slow/stop signs. I'm the only car let through, a line of cars on both sides. I get about half way through and a 3rd guy steps out from behind a truck with the "stop" side of the sign.

I come to a stop and I hear everything come to a silence. The guy walks over and says Daayuuum, thats a nice car. I notice about 5-6 guys standing around the car now.

I say thanks and after a another second or two I kinda motion if I can go now. He realizes he has the stop sign and apologizes and says of course. Hysterical.
