I just saw an article in Car and Driver ( I think) in which they were comparing all the $30,000 sedans.

For the G35 6M/T Sedan, it had a 0-60 time of 5.6 sec. The Lancer Evo had the same 0-60 time as well. In the quarter mile times the Evo win by .2 sec.

I know that the Evo can win, but not by that much. A car length at most given the numbers. In real life its mostly a drivers race.

The EVO was built dedicated solely to performance. On the other hand, The G was built w/ Infiniti's luxury standards in force as well as a little touch of performance (Plenty if you ask me.)

Finally, just look at our ride. Doesn't it put a smile on your face. The styling, the look, the agressiveness, THE PRICE

Now you have the EVO, with the "I WANT TO BE AN IS" lights, over-sized wing.. where's the style, where is the originality?

I saw one this evening, but I was in my corolla :0 The wing looked damn ugly, and the driver thought he was the sh*t! He should open the windows and breathe some fresh air.

There are some cool EVO peeps. I was at the gas station a few weeks ago (before the price gouging) when an EVO pulled in. He was checking out my ride as I was checking out his. After I was done, we gave each other the "head nod" and complimented each others' ride.

when it comes down to performance, the car is a beast. But who wants a car that looks like a friggin shoe box??? I wouldnt even have to second guess myself on what car to get between the G and Evo. Its a no brainer!!! ( The G for all you no brainers)

those EVO's are crazee fast.. it is pretti much a track ready car.. like what the others said tho, the G35 is powerful, but not a pure performance car..

 

Evos are faster for sure.
I've test drove an Evo back than when I was still thinking which car to get. The Evo did feel alot quicker when accelerating especially when the turbo kicked in. Even though the G35 coupe didn't feel as quick but it got a title "luxury" by its name. Which the Evo and the STi can NEVER get. All they got is a title for "performance" which we also have...well we have a V6 engine compare to their I-4! However I would suggest that we stay away from those beasts...well not that we have NO CHANCE beating them...but ya know...just pass by with "authority" and simply show a smile on our face That is also why i choose the G35 coupe instead of the Z, Evo, and STi. Not to offend anyone...just my 3 cents

 

You'd have to catch one in the wrong gear, or maybe at a hairpin turn. The EVO and STI are race cars. The G is a better car, but it's not a better race car.

I don't even think I've seen an EVO on the streets up here in Toronto - Mitsubishi just started selling cars again in this region after about a 10 year absence so they are probably coming.

no offense but evo and sti's are rally cars not race cars...
rally cars = all wheel drive
race cars = rear wheel drive...

 

The Evo would win but I think it's pretty cool that the G is almost as fast considering the Evo is a purpose-built rally car with no amenities and a bowel-shaking ride. The Evo might be cool if it were priced more around $25k. But $30k+ for a freaking souped up lancer? Gimme a break.
