kinetix ssv

Is 800 bucks worth this manifold or is a spacer just as sufficient? The ssv looks badazz though, I think I would buy one just for how clean it looks under the hood

Question

Ok, I'm interested in hearing the opinions from everyone about this one as well.

** I do know that with FI this intake will give you a nice HUGE whp gain, versus the spacer! **

why would n/a have negative gains? when I use nitrous, then would the ssv be beneficial?

I suspect the N/A or 0 is due to the "price point comparison" verses MREV and others. On the other hand, if you are even thinking that down the road (like me) going FI, then why blow $200-300 now and latter spending more down the line.

no, it's due to the fact it blows when you're n/a...all you need is the plenum spacer to get more airflow to the front 2 cylinders....you don't need that monster SSV; it does more harm than good for our little engines.

Where are these so socalled "dynos" where the SSV on an NA car gives 0/negative gain?

I will find out soon enough....

I do not necessarily disagree with this in theory. It is very possible that the air intake is well above what is needed. If this is the case then it would seem there would be a relatively large - negative affect and not a 0 effect. That being said, my point was if you had plans in the future to go FI, and the documentation for FI was a substantial gain with the SSV, then save your money, buy the SSV and you would be ready for FI. Also, it would seem that you could reduce the air intake from the inlet to the manifold restricting it very easily overcomming the large volume.

Well, the deal fell through. I had asked philogene to hold onto the SSV for me until Friday. He said he would. I was going to pick it up from him when he came to Disney. He ended up selling it to a guy from Atlanta who supposesdly flew in and payed $650. I don't blame him for selling it to someone who offered a higher price...but don't say your going to hold onto it for someone then.
