Does anybody know how to do a quick rewire of the lights? I was thinking of turning the light switch to AUTO and placing some tape over the light sensor .. but I think this would turn on the full headlights . and if the inspector goes into the car he would probably figure it out.
I think you are on the right track. Just cover the light sensor with something more discrete, like caulk for example. That does make daytime running lights even if it is a quick fix, I would think it would be hard for the inspector not to pass u on that...

Not sure if this is smart, they will turn the headlights on to test them too.
