Strange problem....
Today I spent about 4 hours working on my 04 coupe. My main goal was to install some new 650cc injectors but I also did a compression check why I was in there (all went well).
Upon finishing I jumped in my car, it started up after a few tries and I backed it out of my parents driveway (long story as to why it was there). While my G was at my parents house for about 10 days it spent 4-5 days sitting in the driveway on a ~30 degree angle (hood was at the high end).
Well, when I hit the street at the end of the driveway I hear liquid rushing. I immediately hit the brakes and shut the car off, thinking its gasoline (like maybe an injector imploded or something). I look down at the passengers kick and I can see a liquid still dripping. So, now I'm thinking why is there gasoline coming from under my dash! There was an envelope sitting in my floorboard that got pretty wet so I grabbed it and came to the conclusion that it was only water, nothing else. I then dropped my passengers side lower dash panel and found that the water was sitting on top of it, until the car became level again, then the water dumped off of it.
This is great news considering not only is my ECU sitting right in that area, but my brand new UTEC is there, too. Now, I'm puzzled as to just how the water got in to my car. It was probably 3-4 cups of water.
I have drilled a hole in the firewall to run my O2 sensor wire. I did not seal it up, but I don't think THAT much water can get through that hole. Has anyone else ever seen anything like this? I was talking to the guy who does my motor work and he brought up that it my be possible for water to leak back through the A/C ducting, but that seems unlikely. Up until last December my car was always outside, and always parked like that (because I lived there) and I never had any water problems.
On a side note, I was very impressed with how the OEM ECU learned my new injectors. I was idling super rich at first (12:1) and after about 15-20 mintues I was right around 14.7-15.0. Of course as soon as I hit the throttle I went SUPER rich, but I didn't drive it all that much.

the grommet that lies right underneath the windshield cowel (?) prolly has a hole in it from running all the wires through.
i get lot's of water in there as well. need to get around to sealing up that hole. my hole is pretty big, so i'll prolly end up duct taping that area.
best of luck.

don't know about the 04's but the 06 has a huge air intake opening under the battery compartment and behind the battery- none of which looks water tight to me and I'm a bit concerned about. Wonder if somehow the angle of the car rolled rain back on to that compartment cover and dripped it into that intake opening and into the blower unit- which dumped out when you hit level ground?
