Brake vibrations (really weird)

I have an 03 G35c and when I brake I get these quick (but hard) vibrations.

This does not happen when I brake normally, only when I brake to a stop. Meaning, it happens when I am going from about 20-0mph. Usually it is 3-4 quick vibrations I can feel through the pedal, sometimes it is 5-6.

It is not a grinding of any sort and the vibrations are pretty erratic. Along with each quick vibration comes a noise from the engine bay, the noise is very hard to describe though. The noise is more like a quick "ping" which initiates the vibration. Sort of like the noise that the spring door stoppers make, except it doesnt last as long.

Any help?

Not sure about the noise, but the vibration through the pedal could be a warped rotor. IF the rotor is warped, you will feel it whenever you break, very quick when moving fast, and the slower you go, the longer the feel. But as you start getting real slow, they would be very long and drawn out rubs. SO, now that I think I have talked myself out of your rotors being warped, lets try to think of something else.

could be abs, but you should definitely know if that is happening, your dashboard lights will come on and it will be extremely fast pulses and you will hear it as well.

I know i had some premature tire wear and thought I warped my rotors you mihgt want to check that. I had some vibration when my tires were low. You can narrow it down pretty fast if you look at your tires then look at your brake pads and rotors. I imagine it has to be something wrong with one of those things.

i have ruled out all of that
each vibration last only a split second, its so quick, like morse-code for brakes or something

from teh way you're describing it, it sounds like your ABS is kicking in for some reason. somthing must be triggering it - could be a faulty sensor, could be VDC, could be a lot of different things... i would get it checked out at dealer.
