03 350z to 05 sti now to a 06 G!! (pics of the sti before it goes)

Hey whats up guys, well tom. is the big day im picking up my new 06 g 35 coupe 6mt blk/blk prem. Im trading in my 05 Wrx Sti, its a fun car very powerful and handles like its on rails but im just tired of that raceboy look. Also kinda tired of the 4 door sedan feeling you get while you drive, I use to own a 350z and really felt like i was in a sports car. After owning the Sti for 8 months i called it quits, I wanted to get back in a real sports car but with luxery and thats were the g35 coupe came in. Im very excited about it and cant wait to pick it up tom. I just wanted to say whats up to everyone and TRUST me the modding will begin lol. Ill post pics real soon, also what light bulbs or leds do I get for the strip on the side of the headlight (sorry im just new to this) and for the sidemarker, i want the hyper white look (blueish tint)...i see it alot on peoples G on this forum and was just wondering?

welcome... congrats on your G.

As far as i can tell, the 06 G headlights don't have the side strip clearance lights anymore. If you look closely, i think all you see is some ridged design in place of the old strip light. I could be wrong. There is a forum dedicated to lights and exterior. You'll find more info than you can handle in these forums. Coming from the STI, you'll probably want to do some perf. mods quick.

You hear about the new WRX STI limited edition, where it comes with leather, heated seats, etc... for a more luxury feel. Limited production. Just asking since you had the STI for only 8 months. How are you handling the depreciation hits each time you switch cars? Hopefully you'll like and enjoy the G longer than the previous cars.

Had my 2005 STi for 15 months myself. It was mildly modded but still good enough for 350hp/385tq, according to Cobb Tuning anyway. Though I was able to get a couple track days and a couple auto-x's out of it I agree the car was just too 'raceboy' to drive every day. The EVO & STi are definitely cars that you can just toss into a corner at ridiculous speeds and expect the car to just go where you point the nose. (perhaps moreso with the EVO)

The 5AT G35 coupe is definitely a switch for me. If anything, the price tag on the G35 feels more evenly distributed throughout the car versus the STI where the $$ basically went to the power/drivetrain -- and that big wing that shook at anything over 45mph.

vr, Rich

well i had a light modded sti also....it had a invidia catless downpipe ,
invidia g200 exhaust system, tananbe gf210 springs.....with a turbo back exhaust on these cars its amazing what a difference and how much faster it is.....but with all the speed and handeling ...i just feel like i dont belong in that sorta car... the 350z well the 2 seater thing got to me after 2 years...but for the sti its just not fun for me anymore... i want style plus performance, yes i will be modding the car with some goodies but the sti is a great car just it wasnt for me, the ride was just tooo harsh for me as a daily driver... i felt like i ran over a little pothole the hole car would feel like it would just fall apart, plastic pieces from the dash rattling all the time.....i plan on tinting the g ,also put some springs and batmobile gtr overlays for the tailights and headlights.....

No, the 06 Coupe doesn't have the clearance lights unlike previous versions.
