Regular service?

Hey fellow G owners....

I have 2900 miles on my G coupe, picked up my G exactly 1 year ago.
I had my 1st service in late Nov 2005.

With such a LOOOOOOOOOOOW mileage G, would you guys service every 6 months or go by mileage??.....If I went by mileage, then my next service would be 2007???

Some of you guys would probably say SELL the lude, right?.....NOTTHA OPTION, what should I do??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanx all in advance

Oil is not like milk where it will spoil. The 3 month thing is used because people generally don't pay attention to mileage, dates to most people are easier. Hence, the reason for the dates.

Oil will eventually settle if not used leaving parts inside the engine dry. This is the biggest concern of not using the vehicle for extended periods of time. Making it important to at least turn on the car to cycle fluids.

As for your question try servicing the vehicle before 6 months so sediment doesn't clump together as oil settles.

I did not mentioned this earlier....I do drive the G 2-3 times a week, so it's not like it's my week-end car....I will probably drive the G 3-4 times a week as the weather becomes nicer. I also plan on taking the G out on some road trips several times a month (250-300 miles) til around Sept....

Like you, I also have a low mileage G. It took me 10 months to reach 3000 miles for my first oil change. I drive it 2-3 times a week, all highway. By that, I go by mileage. The month recommendation is there because it assumes that low mileage in that time frame means constant short distance driving. Constant short distance driving really is hard on the oil as it doesn't get warmed up enough to burn off condensation and other impurities.
