oh crap so your saying that a c6 z06 cant go reach 200 mph (well atleast around 190+) due to this chip?
It's not exactly a government conspiracy - the rev limiters are generally used to keep the car within the speed rating of its OEM tires.

Most cars that aren't electronically limited are inherently drag limited. The aero drag at speed grows to a point that is more than the car's
HP can overcome. That limit is hard to predict - it's a factor of HP, coefficient of drag and conditions. GM claims the C6 Z06 to be drag limited to 198mph.

If you're not drag limited then you'll be gear limited, meaning you have enough HP, low enough CoD, and low enough gear ratios to drive right
up to the redline in your highest gear. My '74 Z-28 was like that; with 3:73's and an M-22 with no overdrive it would hit the 7,000 rpm redline at about 135mph.

Two things limit speed - the road and the rubber. If either lets you down it's usually fatal.

hmmmm.....I think it is a government conspiracy, why else would they sell us a car that is limited and ~157 mph. A ridiculous amount over any speed limit. Then tell us we cant go that fast & get mad at us when we do. Conspiracy written all over it. Oh I got her to 140 then chickened out and slowed down. Gota love the long stretches in Texas.

Is there anyone who has removed the limiter and gotten above 150? I feel like the car stops pulling at 140...
Same here.... went up to 142 then felt the acceleration slowed down...I am sure it can go up more; just don't have enough straight way. Better do this in the track next time...so I can keep my license...

I didn't hit 157..but, with 142..the car is really stable. I am using one hard to drive..the other one to take picture..
