Im not a racer, but ricers who try to race me are getting annoying..what are the best ways to launch in an auto?

Push it from behind with a 6MT.
I would guess your best bet would be to hold the brake pedal down full and at the same time give it some gas with your other foot to try to get the car to really load the drivetrain and get also the revs up higher than idle, and then let off the brake all together and floor the gas pedal as(or right before) you release the brake.... but I've never actually tried that, so it's speculation.
That seems to be the general approach that a lot of these newer automatic sports cars with launch modes seem to be taking with their race-mode launch design.

yeah, i know a guy with a DSG tranny r32 and they have launch control. i must admit, for an auto...it sure does the job. basically a perfect launch and shifts hard every time.Originally Posted by partyman66

Place it in manual mode (preferential). Place your left foot on the brake pedal and bring up the revs, then release the brake. Easy as that.Originally Posted by .50CaŁ

Indeed.
Just pre load it and you'll be good to go.
just like he ^ said.
Hold the brake pedal, press gas pedal all the was, as soon as revs reach almost 3k let go the brake pedal.

he didn't say the tranny had to last, neutral drops will give the best launch LOL
buy the up-rev oarsis or whatever its called sxexcx has this mode where it valet mode and it doesnt let the engine go above 3500 rpms i believe and u put it in that mode then toggle the switch from valet to race mode while your holding the brake and gas and its a perfect launch every time :=)
