I am 16 and am getting my coupe next week. i am on a budget... under 300 is possible and am looking to do some performance upgrades. My picks at this point are a K & N air filter and NKG spark plugs.. thoughts on those and anything else i should do? by the way it has to be something I can do myself

Turbo whistle: $10

Plenum Spacer/ full upgraded plenum: $265

Ebay test pipes: $70

get a motordyne plenum spacer for ~$230 and call it a day.. anything else that you would be able to do yourself would not gain you any HP

 

Plenum spacer, z-tube, sway bars, and springs/struts would be my first choices. The stock intake is hard to improve on already, but the resonators aren't needed, so the z-tube takes those out and changes the sound of your intake a bit.

But this car isn't easy to mod on a budget. Ebay parts for this car won't hold up for too long...

Sparkplugs aren't going to make a difference unless you've got 80,000+ miles at which point swap them out while you've got the plenum off.
