Arrow Help! CAR DIES ON WARM STARTUP!! :(

Thanks for viewing, I need some advice.
When I start my car for work each morning everything is fine. If I make a stop and turn my car off and turn it back on after heating up it dies immediately. I have to press the gas pedal and give it a rev to keep it running then its fine and idles fine too. After driving home tonight I pull in my garage and turn it off. I try to start it and it dies. I did this about 5 times and died each time. My first thought was intake leak... took the cover off and tightened all the bolts on the intake manifold. No change. I thought it may have come loose since doing the spacer install. Although I installed the spacer 6 months ago. Last mod done to the car was HFC about 4 months ago. Also happens with or without the AC on.
Please if you have any ideas, share

I should mention, this saturday somehow my lights (the city lights and side markers only, very stange since I had them set to auto) were flashing overnight and drained my battery and needed a jump to get it started.
My car...
2004 Coupe 5at 26950 miles
Mods: HFCs and cat back exhaust, 5/16 spacer, pop charger, z tube

you probably have to have your idle relearned.
can only be done with obd 2

That's not correct

From the Infiniti Service Man.

Without CONSULT-II
NOTE:
It is better to count the time accurately with a clock.
It is impossible to switch the diagnostic mode when an accelerator pedal position sensor circuit
has a malfunction.
1. Perform EC-78, "Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning" .
2. Perform EC-78, "Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning" .
3. Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
4. Check that all items listed under the topic PREPARATION (previously mentioned) are in good order.
5. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
6. Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch ON and wait 3 seconds.
7. Repeat the following procedure quickly five times within 5 seconds.
a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal.
b. Fully release the accelerator pedal.
8. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 20 seconds until the MIL stops
blinking and turned ON.
9. Fully release the accelerator pedal within 3 seconds after the MIL turned ON.
10. Start engine and let it idle.

no problem...you might want to get a copy of the service manual. THere's a sticky for it in the tech section I believe.

Well fellas, I just reset the idle and now it seems alright.
HOWEVER, my goddamn headlights stopped working... sometimes the driver's side comes on but flickers off. Passenger side never comes on. The fog lights work fine. Ugh!

are you sure your battery is also fully charged? It sounds as if the charging system is overloaded, possible by trying to charge a weak battery. The only other thing I can think of is the ballast for the HIDs, but both going bad at the same time, that's a long shot.

I agree, when I turn the lights on I can hear the idle drop or the engine run a little weaker. I wish the car had a volt meter, the battery is only 2.5 months old. Whats the typical lifespan of a ballast?

I have this same problem on my 6MT. Been driving me nuts. I thought it was my clutch, considering that when I remote start, the car starts up just fine everytime. But if I manually start the car, it will die on the warm startup just like OP mentioned.

Gonna give the pedal position reset a shot.

Also had this problem, lucky for me it was still under warranty and the infiniti mechanic told me he would change the Air Filter, Mass Air flow Sensor and the TB.
That fixed my problem but not sure which exact part did it and the mechanic was not sure either and thats why he said he would do all 3. So check those 3 for sure.

I'm thinking that it could possibly be the TB cuz it recently happened to my RX300 and that car has 2 butterflyvalves. It would start up and die a lot so i popped the hood and cleaned the TB with some wd40 and it hasn't had this problem since.

I'd keep the WD40 away from the TB; Get some TB cleaner.

It's been 2 days after I did the idle relearn and I'm happy to report so far so good. After the initial crank, I get scared when I see the revs drop thinking it's going to stall again, but it climbs back after that dip and stays running.

I had the exact same problem with my 04. After the car was warmed up I would have to rev the gas when I started it up. One weekend my just didn't want to start at all even from a cold crank. I just bought a new battery and that solved the problem.

Don't know if anything else would solve that issue but if all else fails change out your battery.
