Re: On my 3rd CD player

Argh!! I am also on my 3rd CD player now. The second one broke about 2,000 miles after the first!!!!! It just sucks to wait for the new stereo, and then be without my CD's (that I just bought and barely listened to), and then have the CD's come back to me all scratched up!!!! I just hope that they're changing the unit somehow to actually try and actually fix whatever problem it is that the changer has so we don't have to keep replacing our stereos..... not very fun once the warranty runs out!!

Re: On my 3rd CD player

"The service manager asked if I had put burned CD's in it, as apparently the unit doesn't cope with CD-R's very well. No, I didn't, but still.. I can see where it might not recognize and play a CD-R, but I don't see how a CD-R would jam the changer mechanism."

Has anyone confirmed a CD-R connection to the head unit problems? I have a non-Bose system and am reluctant to play CD-Rs although there doesn't seem to be any logic to the problem. My service advisor said it might be the stick-on labels that some CD-Rs have. That would make sense but I don't think most people use them. Also, anyone have a non-Bose unit break?

Re: On my 3rd CD player

I've been using Verbatims Vynal CD's and they work great. I've yet to have any problems.

Re: On my 3rd CD player

Maybe their cars are a newer built production model, whereas those who are not having problems have late 2003 and 2003.5 models.

It's still a G thang!!

Re: On my 3rd CD player

My car is a 2003.5 model, arrived on our shores in December a few days before I took delivery.

It took one month for them to get my CDs back to me after they swapped the unit out.

And now, just today, the 2nd unit jammed with the infamous "CD ERR F0." This time, they think it will only take two weeks to get a replacement unit in, instead of the month it took last time. I wonder if Clarion will still sit on my CDs for a month, though.

This is starting to get annoying. And my driver's seat is still loose.

Re: On my 3rd CD player

I feel your pain on that issue. My first CD player went out and it took a couple of weeks to get a replacement in. Now check this out...when they replaced it my new replacement lasted a grand total of 4 days before it also displayed the infamous "CD ERR F0". But on a note of good news, I was told by my service agent Linda, (Hi Linda) to keep trying to eject the CD's. So I kept cycling power and immediately hitting the eject button...and the [censored] worked. The CD player unjammed itself and haven't had any problems since..knock on wood. So try it and see if it works for you....good luck.
