If you want to still keep the staggered effect swap the front tires for the 225/45. What I seen is that if the fronts are smaller than the rear, they are spinning fast which triggers the awd. Since the front will be slightly taller there is no triggering and then once it hits 12-15 it goes to rwd anyways.

Yeah, I am not sure why people have not posted about them. I just been doing other things right now to get them. I might have to pic some up.

Couple quick questions...and yes, I have read this thread at least 3 times...
1) when measuring a drop, typical measurement is from the highest point of the fender?
2) I am planning on buying a set of sedan sport H&R's, am I correct in adding another .5' to the box's printed drop (ie. 1.3' + .5" = So about a 1-3/4' drop
My current fender/wheel gap is about 3" in the front and 2.5" in the back with Rays 19's and 40 series all the way around. So an avg. drop of 1-3/4" put me just about 3/4" in the rear and 1-1/4" in the front fender/wheel gap wise? That is over half the distance, which would really make my X look good. Turtle/Flying L maybe you guys can correct this. I know that isnt much of a slam SOCAL style, but here in Arkansas where we just got paved roads, I will be dragging the ground!

The way everyone has been measuring on the forums is from ground to fender. That is why are you are seeing people say they are 23.75 - 25 etc. That will probably give you a better view of when you lower it. I wish I could remember the stock ground to fender is. LOL Also with a 40 inch tire, that will help with the gap since it is a slightly taller tire than stock and of course what everyone else runs.

btw all of you guys are going to laugh. I raised my car up to 27 inches from ground to fender and wow I actually enjoy driving my car. Does it look bad yeah, but man I dont have to avoid alot of things. LOL

In snow you will need all the ground clearance you can get. I found out AWD means nothings if your bumper is stuck pushing snow, i was on stock AWD suspension too.
Had to ask like 3 random people to help push me back out.

^^ Yeah we dont get much snow. Last year is the first time I bought snow tires and then we got hit pretty hard for Wa. I did have it raised up alot and had no issues. One year I did have it lowered and got stock 50 feet from my house dug myself out and drove back down my hill. We have not gotten any snow yet, but our mountains are getting dumped on so I might have to drive up there. LOL
