Its funny, why you cant post pic of simple thing. You asked for my phone number because you said you had it on your phone, never got a pic message. Is it that hard to jack up your car and take a pic and post. Look at all the pic you have of your car on car domain.

Do you have some kind of deal with VRT that you wont show how the arms are.

I remember a pm you said, that you want to take the arm to a machine shop and see if they can duplicate it. Here is your chance to help the X community.

Still working good , at one point they were a lil soft so i had to turn the **** 2 clicks on the rear to stiffen it up a bit and and the front 1 click but i guess they just had to settle ride quality is still nice and i have it slammed down to the tire , cant even stick your finger in between and i have 19's so thats pretty low , im just glad someone had the brain to make that arm for the X , i know the coilovers arent the namebrand but that arm is the real saver that everybody with the X model really wish they had , I know about VRT screwwing people over but im glad i bought that Arm because know i can put any coilovers i want , i was thinking of taking off the Arm and having someone make some copies and Offering them to X drivers and then they can use there own choice of Coilovers. what do you think ?

 

i'll get you pictures of the ARMS. i had ordered the coilover kit from VRT to give it a go. well besides the ****ty coilovers they came with, the arm are pretty sweet and beefy. they gave me no problems. although the way VRT had the arms attach to the coilover system was scary. i did not trust it nor liked the ride. but i paid to keep the arms to see if there would be anyway i can make them fit another set of aftermarket coilovers.

 

Pics would be great since nobody post pics. of their actual setup.

 

Let us know the status of fitting a different set of coilovers to the arm, that would be the answer to many G35X owners' prayers. I believe a pic or two is posted a couple pages before of the VRT arm.

 

Yeah but those pics really dont help us see how the strut is mounted and how the arm is mounted on the car.

 

Bottom line:

What needs to be purchased and what needs to be done to make the G35x handle like an Audi S4?

What are the largest wheels and tires recommended to improve performance for a daily driven G35 in the Northeastern US?

1. If anything from myself driving an 2006 S4 to my 04 G35x, The S4 is faster in performance due TURBOS but the G35x has betta handling having driving them over 60mph and taking curves at high speed both with factory settings......like tires and suspension...

2. Larger wheels will not give u betta performance unless u in vest over $3000 for a set of lightweight wheels....Volks, Gram Lights, HRE and etc.

 

I am a newbie, so I admit I don't know much.

But, the S4 4.2 V8 felt unflappable in the turns at speed and the G35x had a lot of body roll and the tires felt squirrley at the limit.

Also,
I noticed a HUGE difference on my daily driver when I went from 245's on a 16" rim to 275's on a 17" rim.

 

You might want to get a strut bar to help reduce the body roll. The richie front strong bar is something a lot of people have purchased. I bought one for myself and my sister's car and they help reduce body roll greatly and actually help absorb irregularities in the road a lot better.
